Just saw Dave Filoni saying that the Gods of Mortis are “definitely a thing” today. So, here’s the ol’ Mortis Father himself. I’d say he’s def a thing haha.

Done for The Clone Wars S3 Mortis Arc, it was a pleasure to design this old conehead as an homage to the incomparable Mœbius. It felt like the first time that TCW stepped firmly into the mystical realm of Star Wars. Glad we had a chance to contribute to this aspect of the SW universe. Cheers folks!

The Space Waffles - One of the funniest things I’ve done on The Clone Wars.
When I was still at The Ranch working on TCW, one day I was looking at my task list for that week. Among all the spaceships and cool characters, I found that I was assigned task: "Waffles". Curious, I walked over to Kilian Plunkett, who was the design lead at the time, and asked "Is that a bounty hunter or Jedi named Waffles?" (yes, that wasn't out of the question working in SW universe, trust me) Kilian looked up and said "Nope, that's an actual waffle". I said "Oh" and walked back to my desk and made the best Waffles I could make.

Years later when I was teaching at the Academy of Art, my student asked how I dealt with “non-hero” or incidental designs. I used this Waffles story as advice to them…. that they should always give the same level of attention and enthusiasm to all design challenges regardless of the perceived significance. Because if you can’t deliver on something as simple as a crate or a waffle, how can they trust you to deliver something like a spaceship or a hero character?

Needless to say…The Space Waffles is a minor legend in TCW and Rebels lore. LOLZ

Happy May the 4th to all. Cheers

Fully revealed Embo in The Mandalorian & Grogu final trailer! 😮 He looks badass! I still can't believe he will be in the film. It's been pretty cool seeing The Clone Wars era characters making their ways into live-action realm. Excited to see him in action soon. I wonder if they will make an action-figure of this version. Cheers folks!

A few goofy looking robots. Pretty dubious about their function and purpose.
