THE THEATER OF FALSE PATRIOTISM

Patriotism is not a feeling!

Somewhere between the anthem and the advertisement, sacrifice was traded for sentiment. The sacred act became a stadium chant. Courage was gutted, embalmed, and paraded across every screen in the empire like a taxidermied god.

The real patriots were never the men waving flags. They were the ones willing to burn them when those flags betrayed the principles they once stood for.
The man who salutes corruption because it wears his colors is no patriot. He is a domesticated coward, mistaking obedience for honor and calling his chains “duty.”

Once action was stripped from patriotism, courage and morality bled out with it. What remains is nationalism, the sentimental religion of the state. It exists to make slaves feel noble.

It thrives on emotional theater: songs, pledges, rituals of submission. All engineered to hijack conscience and replace moral conviction with conditioned reflex. Patriotism cannot live on a bumper sticker or a sleeve, but Nationalism can.

Nationalism worships the image of the nation, not the principles that give it life. It shames dissent, brands conscience as treason, and calls blind obedience patriotic. It is the perfect psychological weapon because it convinces men their virtue lies in surrender.

True patriotism lives in the marrow.
It is the refusal to kneel when truth demands you stand.
A patriot defends principle—even when his own country despises him for it.

Governments learned long ago how to counterfeit the feeling. They mass-produce loyalty like currency until it is worthless. And the people, starved for meaning, spend it on parades and flags, believing noise equals honor.

THE TRUTH CUTS DEEP

Patriotism without morality becomes propaganda.
Obedience dressed as virtue is still servitude.
And the man who confuses loyalty with love will die protecting his own cage.

If you wish to honor your people or your country, stop worshiping its symbols and start defending its principles.

THE NATION THAT NEVER WAS

Flags are not decoration. They are claims.
When a man flies the federal flag above his state flag, he is making a statement whether he understands it or not that: centralized authority outranks local sovereignty. Abstraction outranks place. Policy outranks people, rights and law. That hierarchy is not natural.
It is rhetoric for tyranny. The state flag belongs above the federal flag because the state was the nation, and the union was only ever a compact, a tool, not a master. Identity was meant to be local, grounded, and accountable. Power was meant to stay close enough to be felt and challenged. There was never an “American” nationality. Never, EVER!
That word describes jurisdiction, not people or nationality. Administration, not heritage. Function, not nationhood. It is a false identity.
Your true nationality is a derivative of your state, Statehoods like Virginian, Missourian, Coloradan etc. Sovereign nations joined in league for limited purposes to prevent the disease of centralization. That safeguard existed exactly in opposition to what we live under today.
Centralized identity has always produced tyranny. Every empire follows the same arc: local identity is erased, national myth replaces it, authority migrates upward, and enforcement replaces consent. The federal flag didn’t rise above the states by accident. It rose because people forgot what it represented, and what it never did. That is why, if the national flag is flown at all, it should be beneath the state flag and inverted. This is the correct order on the pole and within the union. An inverted flag is not disrespect. It is the universal signal of distress. It declares that order has been broken, sovereignty inverted, and emergency normalized.
Flying it upright today is a lie.
And when a symbol no longer represents truth and becomes a tool of centralized obedience, burning it is not treason.
If you are flying the American flag above your state flag, you are not a patriot.
If you are flying it upright, you are falsely declaring there is no distress. Patriotism is not emotion or ritual obedience.
It is loyalty to proper order and accountable power. by @phattyjs

I just bought a serious instrument of understanding language. This book is 128 yrs old. Printed in 1898!

This volume stands among the most authoritative works on the etymology of the English language, tracing words back through Old English, Norse, Latin, Greek, and their earliest recorded forms.

Before the twentieth century, language was treated as structure, not opinion. Meaning was inherited, not negotiated. Law, theology, and moral philosophy depended on words that carried history, weight, and consequence.

To study pre-1900 texts with accuracy, especially in matters of law, faith, and moral meaning, one must work from sources like this: books that record where words came from, how they were formed, and what they meant before modern revision/corruption.

This is not casual reading.
It is a reference work tool for those who take language seriously.
