Happy Heavenly Birthday, Sheila! 😘❤️🙏🏽 We used to celebrate our May birthdays together. Now this time is a bit bittersweet for me. It’s still unbelievable that she is not here. I miss her every day in so many little and big ways - when I’m about to do a dance workout (she loved to dance), when I’m at Trader Joe’s (our favorite store), when I’m getting ready to go out (she was the beauty/makeup expert), or in the middle of the night when I’m simply in disbelief that she’s not on this planet in physical form. I’m still going through her things - two years later - which is so hard but also makes me smile because she had such amazing taste and style. I put aside a few items for a time capsule and the next generation. Hopefully, they will enjoy it and feel like they knew her in some way (my brand new grand niece already has a Chanel bag and incredible Louis Vuitton shoes waiting for her courtesy of Great Aunt Sheila). 🤣 This beautiful picture of Sheila was taken by the one-and-only Lamonte McLemore, founding member of The 5th Dimension, and acclaimed celebrity photographer. Lamonte took the iconic pictures of Jayne Kennedy. Thank you Jayne for introducing us way back when. I’ll share some of my Lamonte pics at a different time. Please join me in celebrating the best big sister “Sheila Sunshine” who would have been 62 today.
