SFTK (Stand for the Kids) Week is Phi Delta Epsilon’s annual international week of philanthropy supporting Children’s Miracle Network. All PhiDE Chapters and members come together during this week to raise awareness and funds for our local children’s hospital.

We hope everyone is having a great first week back on campus! Our members were busy this summer and we wanted to share some of our favorite moments.

@gabriellacmateo interned at Northwell Health in New York City with breast surgeon Dr. Janet Yeh!

@jia.n.patel and @gabiswidler went on a Maymester to Seoul, South Korea for a class on contemporary arts!

Our president, @ansley_martin26, took part in theUniversity of Amsterdam emergent properties of language and psychosis workshop with her lab from Radboud University!

@meredith.finleyy went on a medical missions trip to Boquete, Panama with VAW Global Health Alliances.

@abby.melle working on the Jersey Shore as an EMT patrol!

@eliana.gracias took part on a medical outreach trip!

This past Sunday, SC Alpha hosted its annual Medical School Workshop, bringing members together for a full day of mentorship, guidance, and professional development.

This year featured six sessions covering important aspects of the medical school journey: MCAT preparation, insights from seniors, pathways to medical school, the application cycle, admissions, and DEI.

Thank you to our MSW speakers, members, and executive board for dedicating their time and support to make this event a success. A special thanks to SC Alpha’s Vice President of Programming Heli Shah for putting the event together. by @phidescalpha

USC and Clemson PhiDE chapters collaborated at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville to make no-sew blankets and had USC PhiDE Alum Cooper Schneider give a tour of the school and do a Q&A! by @phidescalpha

Last week, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Alpha Kappa Psi and Gamecock EMS to explore diverse perspectives on healthcare and the role business plays in shaping the flow of money within hospitals. Together, we’re building a more well-rounded understanding of the systems that drive patient care. by @phidescalpha
