Polar bear - East Greenland 🇬🇱

Sailing next to a massive Glacier front. Surrounded by drift ice and fog, creating a mysterious atmosphere.
And suddenly, there he was. The largest living land predator, lying calm and relaxed on some drift ice. My first wild polar bear sighting. Perfectly placed in front of a huge iceberg floating in the water. I hope his habitat stays intact for many more decades..

East - Greenland 🇬🇱

Can you spot the sailing boat? ⛵️

Scoresbysund is the largest fjord system in the world, located on the east coast of Greenland. This coast is frozen and blocked by sea ice around 10 months of the year. Just for a few weeks you can sail through it.

I have never felt more drawn to a place than the Arctic. It is so raw and wild. Hundreds of massive glaciers meeting the sea. Calving house-sized icebergs. Combined with the solitude it creates a therapeutic, humbling atmosphere..

Galapagos Giant Tortoise 🐢 🇪🇨

The Galapagos Giant Tortoise is the largest living land tortoise in the world. They can weigh up to 300 kg, and their shells grow up to 1.3 m

These impressive, gentle giants are nature’s true time travelers, often living past 150 years

Their secrets?
- an extremely slow metabolism that produces fewer free radicals.
- their DNA possesses extra copies of genes to repair damaged DNA
- their immune system is highly effective at suppressing tumors
- massive shells store fat and water, allowing them to survive without food or water for up to a year
- no natural predators on the Galapagos Islands

It was truly incredible to chill with these chill experts and observe their life in the slow lane..

Iceland 🇮🇸

One of the reasons why you feel like on another planet in Iceland are the endless amounts of volcanic craters 🌋 Some of them are quite colourful. Responsible for the bright red is hematite. A pigment created by oxidation when the hot iron-rich lava is exposed to oxygen during an eruption. Permanently dyes the craters. A beautiful contrast to the green moss growing on the rocks.

(Unfortunately the audio track doesnt allow leaving in the laughing fit my friend Fabio had while recording us from inside the car 🤣)

The Milky Way above the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the Dolomites 🪐⛰️

The Universe has been always something I m the most curious to learn about..

- 400 Billions Stars just in the Milky Way
- Two trillion galaxies with each holding hundreds of billions stars in the Universe
- Every carbon atom in our bodies, the calcium in our bones and the iron in our blood were created in the hearts of dying stars

Facts which are beyond my wildest imagination..

Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 Eagle Hunter

Eagle hunting is a nomadic tradition in Kyrgyzstan. Till this day the art is passed down through generations and kept alive by young hunters working together as a team with their Golden Eagles, horses and dogs.
