I traveled to #guatemala with 2 goals in mind. Learn how to travel solo & take my time, and to produce a video that shows the beauties and diversities of the country from the people to the landscapes and adventures the country has to offer.

As I was on lake Atitlan, certainly one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, I met this fisherman called Selestino. It was in the early morning, around 6:30 am and he was fishing on his little wooden boat. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed. Selestino was a sweetheart as were most people in San Pedro la Laguna.

Fun fact is that locals speak a maya language between each other although some of them also speak castellano (spanish) too. So me as a gringo speaking spanish to him was actually speaking in a foreign language for him too.

Meeting people like Selestino and other locals tought me a life lesson: taking the time, like really taking the time can lead you to experiences like meeting adorable people, exchanging a few words with them and sometimes they can even take you for a tour or invite you in their family for some time.

Now, after living my guatemalec experience for the last 2 weeks, I feel ready to hit the road again with the motorbike and I hope to be able to keep this new fresh mindset that made me feel happy, for the rest of my roadtrip.

Potosi mines in Bolivia used to be one of the largest gold mines in the world during the colonial period. The mountain hosting mines lost over 400m height over time, taking life of over 8 million people over time, due to accidents and unhealthy working conditions.

This documentary shows me discovering with a guide an unbelievable raw reality were miners work in extremely tough conditions, risking their lives daily to provide income for their families.

My names is Philip. I work as a filmmaker in Switzerland, but I’ve been documenting with film my entire life. My passion has always been to tell stories through my art. And I finally feel ready to tell my own story, through my own eyes: what it’s like to live as an autistic person in a world of ‘normal’ people.

Living with autism means being driven (and tortured) by my determination and obsessions. This film is no different. I’m willing to do anything to bring it to life – and to make everyone question what being a normal person really means in our increasingly strange and unrecognisable world.
