Red alert: The Newsom Administration has proposed to break the contract with the state’s two million solar customers, slash the solar credit, and charge a new a solar tax. These changes would apply to ALL solar consumers who signed up for solar before April 2023 (NEM1 and NEM2).

The Newsom Administration is lying about rooftop solar to avoid addressing the root cause of high electricity rates—increased utility spending. They should be focused on reining in monopoly utility spending, not attacking consumers.

Rooftop solar actually helps reduce the cost of the grid for everyone: when people buy less electricity from the utilities, the utilities don’t have to spend as much on poles and wires.

We should not let them get away with scapegoating rooftop solar to avoid holding the utilities accountable. Please send your state Assemblymember and Senator a message right now. Then call their offices. Then share this message with three friends, or a thousand.

Governor Newsom recently issued an Executive Order that falsely blames rooftop solar for high electricity rates. That's untrue. High rates are caused by increased utility spending, and rooftop solar helps save everyone money by lowering the cost of the grid. We need more rooftop solar, not less. Today, legislators were hand-delivered a correction to the Governor's Executive Order. Help make sure our legislators read the correction by taking action here: https://solarrights.org/governornewsomexecutiveorder by @phil_n_debb
