POSTS STORIES REELS

When’s the last time you actually talked to someone you voted for?

Back in March, I sat down with Assemblymember Damon Connolly through my work as government affairs chair for North Bay CAMP, the California Association of Mortgage Professionals. We talked about what we’re seeing in the mortgage market and how proposed laws could affect homebuyers and the mortgage professionals who serve them.

Then I looked at his office door. We were there to talk about mortgages. Somebody else is calling about their kid’s school, their local food bank, or protecting our coast. He and his staff make time for those conversations all year. They’re putting in real work. For us.

That’s something I think about when I look at a name on my ballot. If something comes up in my community, can I call their office and talk to somebody? Are they going to respond?

So yeah, I participated. I voted. And I’m proud to wear this little sticker.

Big goals. Simple commitments.

Loved watching the Valks bring home a championship—and hearing Tiffany Hayes remind everyone to invest in women’s sports. 💜

For Mortgage Advisors, here’s an investment you can make over the next 60 days: time with the people who’ve already trusted you.

Someone may be worried about their payment, unsure about moving, or uncomfortable asking for help. Your experience and perspective could make a difference—even if the best advice is to stay put.

Choose a number of past clients or Realtor partners you’ll check in with each week. Put it on your calendar. Follow through.

Every conversation won’t become a loan. Being a resource is already a win.

What’s your weekly commitment for a strong finish to 2026—and a running start into 2027?

Ever pass on a great opportunity because you don’t feel ready for it… yet?

That’s been me with mountain biking.

Electric or acoustic? Give me a little grief. 😂 But this electric bike has me saying yes to rides I would’ve passed on before.

I’m still pedaling. Still getting a workout. And because I’m getting out more, I’m getting stronger, going farther, and having more fun.

It’s how I think about what we’re building at LaSalle, too. The right team and systems give you more time for what you do best: building relationships, helping clients, and bringing in business.

You’re still doing the work. You’ve got support that helps you do more of it. And as your business grows, we grow together.

So what’s something you’ve passed on—or don’t quite feel ready for yet? Could a little boost or some extra support free you up to confidently say yes more often?

My 60-day posting commitment continues. @Forward.USA

What is it costing you to not be in the room?

It could be an idea that changes how you do business. A conversation that gives you a little more energy. Or someone you haven’t met yet who could become a partner, a mentor, or a friend.

I came back from the FWD mastermind energized and thinking about what I can bring back to our team at LaSalle.

One of those takeaways was Michael Smoak’s 60-day posting challenge. It’s pushing me to get clearer about what I want to say, tell better stories, and get more comfortable sharing them. Day 4 of 60.

Is there an event, networking group, association, or leadership group you’ve been thinking about checking out?

What might you gain by being in the room?

Ever notice how the harder you try to come up with a good idea, the more stuck you get?

That happens to me all the time.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is step away. Take a walk, clear your head, and give your mind a little room to work.

Funny how the ideas often show up when you stop chasing them.

For me, a walk with my dog does wonders. 🐕🌳

Where do you get your best ideas?

More value. Less commission breath.

Would you rather invite a referral partner to something that helps them grow their business, or chase them down for a shot at their next deal?

Today, Brenda Wyatt brought Realtor partners together at our LaSalle Oakland branch for “From Scroll to Sold,” a session on using video to enhance listings.

Randall, a Realtor about a year and a half into the business, shared how he’s using video to get discovered in his market.

We expected about 40 people. RSVPs jumped to 100. Clearly, this was something people wanted to learn.

That’s why we believe in building an event-based business. A useful invitation gives you a reason to connect, an opportunity to help, and something meaningful to follow up on.

The event is the vehicle. Positioning is the point. Referral Gravity is the outcome.

What could you bring your partners together to learn?

Day 2 of 60.

What if something you’ve learned is exactly what someone else needs to hear?

I’m keeping that in mind as I start this.

After more than half my life in the mortgage business, I’ve learned from incredible people and had plenty of lessons of my own. I haven’t always been comfortable sharing them on camera.

This past weekend at the FWD Mastermind (@forward.usa ), Michael Smoak (@higherupwellness ) challenged us to post daily for 60 days. I’m in.

My goal: get better at communicating clearly, telling stories, and sharing my perspective.

Some mortgage. Some leadership. Some everyday observations about how we treat each other.

Hopefully, something gives you a nudge or helps you see things a little differently.

Day 1 of 60.

What’s something you’ve been hesitating to share?
