Like many survivors, I’m navigating a little blip at the moment, but I’m grateful to be here. Cancer changed my life, and it’s made me even more determined to create a better future for myself, my family, and others affected by this disease.

A real bucket list moment! ❤️

When I was diagnosed with male breast cancer 10 years ago, I could never have imagined that one day I’d be helping the actors of Coronation Street prepare for a male breast cancer storyline.

To be thought of as someone the actors could speak to, to share my own experiences and help them understand what it’s really like to hear those words, was an incredible honour.

I’ve spent years trying to raise awareness that men get breast cancer too, so to see the subject being brought into millions of living rooms through such an iconic programme means more than I can put into words.

From being a patient to helping tell a story that could potentially save someone’s life. That’s something I’ll never forget.

Quite emotional to be part of one of the final posts from @behindthescars_ .

Back in 2019, I asked Sophie Mayanne if I could get involved and somehow ended up taking over the Instagram account for a weekend. With its huge reach, that opportunity gave me the confidence to start campaigning and raising awareness online - and so much has happened since.

Pink Washing and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀

Time for survivors to put on the pink, smile politely… and skip, dance and swerve our way through another month of bullshit. 💃🕺

The pink washing.
The brands suddenly caring for 31 days.
The statistics that forget some of us exist.
The “awareness” campaigns that somehow manage to say very little about breast cancer.

Meanwhile, survivors are still living with the scars, the fear, the side effects and the reality of what this disease actually takes.

So yes, I’ll wear pink. I’ll dance. I’ll laugh. I’ll probably take the piss.

But I’ll also keep making noise.

Because awareness without action is just decoration.

Check your chest. Know your normal. And remember: men get breast cancer too.

Now excuse me while I dance through the bullshit. 🩷

A very proud moment seeing myself in today’s Daily Mirror, helping raise awareness of male breast cancer. 💙🎗️

The feature ties in with the important @coronationstreet storyline following Detective Kit Green @_jacob.roberts as he is diagnosed with breast cancer, a powerful reminder that breast cancer doesn’t discriminate by gender.

It was a huge honour to be invited by @macmillancancer to be involved, sharing my own experience and helping advise on a storyline that has the potential to reach millions of people.

Nearly 10 years after my own diagnosis, I never imagined my experience might one day help shape a storyline on one of Britain’s most iconic TV shows.

If this storyline encourages even one person to notice a change, check his chest and speak to his GP, then it matters.

Breast cancer can affect anyone regardless of gender.

Let’s keep talking. Let’s keep checking. Let’s keep raising awareness. 💙🩷
