The last few months, I’ve been slowly putting together a new studio. From designing the acoustic treatment to finding a couch that would fit, it’s been quite the journey, but it’s finally feeling ready and I’m excited to get to work.

This year, I’m doubling down on composing and producing music. The creative side of making music has always been my favorite, and my hope is that this space will be a real harbor for creativity and collaboration. If you’ve got a project in mind, or just want to swing by and see the new digs, drop me a message. Would love to see more of my friends in this new year.

It’s been a long strange summer. Busy month ahead with Americanafest, lots of sessions, and a few exciting composition projects. Attitude of gratitude. Thanks for the film picture @maxbrownmusic taken in East Nashville, Tennessee by @philbronch

My 6th album comes out today. It’s called Good Weather. It’s a breakup album. But in the words of my friend @rachelbaiman, “I was expecting it to be a lot angrier, it’s kind of just a love album.”

Loss is hard and grief isn’t a straight line. And all the while the world keeps getting stranger. I debated whether I should release this album at all. It’s so personal and that kind of vulnerability is scary. But as these tech companies try to sell cheap imitations of our own souls back to us, raw vulnerability in art feels more and more necessary.

I hope you’ll enjoy the album and share it with friends who might appreciate some tender songs. Big thanks to @samwisemanphoto for recreating the album cover and to everyone involved:

Quick rip on this beautiful lap steel that @losch_guitars built for me. Still familiarizing myself with the instrument and really getting it under my hands. #lapsteel #slideguitar #steelguitar #customguitar taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @philbronch

I’ve been super inspired by ableton’s auto-shift lately and wanted to give it a spin and hear how it sounds on saxophone. #sax #saxophone #horn #electronicmusıc #musician taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @philbronch

Vocodor Cover #2 - Feels Like Home. It’s been so fun to take some of my favorite melodies and do some pseudo choral arrangents of them with the @ableton Auto Shift. Drop suggestion for other songs you’d want to hear like this, I’m gonna keep it going. #Vocoder #feelslikehome #randynewman #electronicmusic taken in Berry Hill, Tennessee by @philbronch

When I was driving around the country doing singer songwriter shows, many years ago, this was always one of my favorite covers to break out. Channeling some bon iver vibes on this tom petty cover. 💛
