No Vile Lazy Ai involved in my self portraits!

They’re pure photography, of me behind a sheet of latex. Not because I’m a latex fan but because I felt it was an amazing aid to help describe my feelings.

I had so many unhelpful emotions happening, I’d contemplated jumping off a Cliff. I was the person, who this was never going to happen to, I was too strong. 😜 I was totally wrong.

One day I felt compelled to illustrate my feelings and in that moment, saw the latex sheet I had for ages as a prop & felt it would be great to help me explain/illustrate my feelings…

Stuck in a prison, where everyone can see you but no comes close enough to ask, how you are. Latex is suffocating, constricting, plastic, breathless, and photographically it screamed at me. 10+ years later they still lick my heart in!

These are a few of the self portraits I recorded. Every single time I look at them, I burst in to tears, I’m doing it now!

You can make your own image descriptions up, they’re open to whatever you see & feel.

I’ve missed painting so very much, I had no idea how much I missed it, until I picked up a brush and began my parent’s garden gate mural.

It’s my new direction and I’m hoping to turn it into a business!

I’ve a question for you…

if you were to commission a mural, would you have it painted direct to the wall or on panels?
(So if you move, you can take it with you)

I know there’s not been much progress…this is about the vile dictator algorithm, that decides everything.
Wishing you a wonderful evening!

I’ve an important question for you, I’d love to hear your opinions.
Please watch to the end (1min) to see the question and location I’m thinking about.

I’m contemplating adding something to the mural and not 100% certain. Will it be too much? Or won’t it?

Feeling slightly catastrophic after leaving my tin can a month ago. My life situation is in a worse place…loosing where I made my lamps and stored stock…it’s hit me heavy…. Just the simple stuff…not creating = not doing events = not meeting people = very confused & lonely

There’s a few other serious life additions to that list, I can’t bring myself to share right now…

Not that any of this matters to you, I’m sure you’ve got lots going on too.

I’m still creating, just have to choose the moments of dry days, as I do it outside in a garden, after loosing my workshop 😢

Onwards and…….onwards……let’s see what reveals itself for tomorrow & beyond. X

From my series ‘fantastic breakables’

I made this series of work, while I wasn’t well. I was going through my first encounter with depression.

I refused the pharmaceuticals from the quack, they just made my heart vacant. So I decided to create to help myself.

I took old product photographs, I originally shot for x2 large clients. They used them on the product packaging and in store.

This piece I made entirely from a photograph of a champagne flute.

I used a product photograph, photoshop and my imagination, to create a bunch of artworks all printed on to aluminium dibond.

I’ve made scenes using photographs of wine glasses, champagne flutes, bowls, plates & mugs.

I’ve even created crockery people!

The whole process, from playing to discover the idea, to each piece and the photographs I recycled, all played a massive part to play. Using my creativity was the energy I needed to fight my way out of the darkest place, mentally, I’ve ever been.

In this piece, I also created the hummingbird from the champagne flute!

This piece is 1mtr in diameter and printed on brushed aluminium, so light dances across the surface.

It would look amazing in your outside space, patio or lounge.

Using aluminium dibond, means the print doesn’t need a frame or glazing & it can get wet, so you could even put it in your bathroom.

It’s available as a limited edition of 5. This is number 1 of 5

Movin unit this week has brought forwards so many feelings…my previous life (I’ve no idea what that means in this movement)
I photographed these on a film 6x6 on an arcbody camera.
Old skool c-type printing mounted on, back in the day, on to a spanking new techniques.
Give me a shout if you’d like to know more.
