October 1 - Memorial of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, virgin and doctor of the Church - Thérèse was born to a devout Catholic family in France in the late 19th century. Through a special grace from God, Thérèse received the maturity and strength of soul to love others in a spirit of self-sacrifice and zeal, and desired to answer the call of Jesus to become His Bride. Thérèse entered the Carmelite convent in Lisieux at the young age of fifteen, where she lived in simplicity, humility, and with great love of God until she died from tuberculosis on September 30, 1897 when she was only twenty-four years old. by @philipjforte

Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen was beatified yesterday, September 24, 2026, at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
An historic image, the first portrait of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen depicted with a halo, was unveiled during his beatification Mass in St. Louis. I love that Blessed Fulton Sheen is holding a piece of chalk - a nod to his signature blackboard on his TV show! by @philipjforte
