“ We are so thrilled to announce that our Connecticut Captains Cottage Project in Southport, CT, is now gracing the pages of @archdigest⁠

Over the past few years, we’ve had the incredible pleasure of collaborating with our client to breathe new life into this historic Connecticut home. Originally built in 1834, this gorgeous colonial along the Southport Harbor was once the home of Captain Ward Bulkley, and we infused it with restoring the historical charm and cleverly adding in a concealed room⁠
⁠
This expansive colonial cottage is roughly 6,500 square feet with a full home rehabilitation renovation. Full home project scope includes; main entry, kitchen, all bathrooms, the old section of the house, a large staircase, glass breezeway extension to correct flow, as well as the main bedroom suite with an ensuite closet and bathroom, and moody gentlemen’s office.⁠

“I feel like a lot of clients come to us asking for a secret room,” laughs Blair Moore of Moore House Design. “I really wanted the design to be a blend of both the house and its persona, and the clients and theirs. They have this very cool, New York, Mad Men feeling to them,” shares Moore. says Blair Moore, founder and designer of @moorehousedesign. & @roweam_⁠

The Modernist Tudor: Blair Moore of Moore House Design has reimagined a 1914 Californian Tudor home in Rhode Island as a layered refuge for a creative family. Fresh materials, vintage elements, and bespoke millwork echo the original architecture while creating a deeply soulful interior that feels simultaneously collected and timeless. Soft textures and diffused light make it feel like a calm reset.
