Cartoonist, animator, crafts person?? Author of REIGNCLOWD PALACE, SOPPY, and MY CARDBOARD LIFE

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This book of mine, Reignclowd Palace, comes out in just a few weeks! (12 June??) So I'm sharing some artwork I produced whilst writing it. When I write comics, I'll start with drawing - but writing a novel didn't require me to draw at all and I found that kind of liberating. In fact when I tried drawing elements from the story I found it unhelpful, and realised I would prefer to keep the visuals in my head. What helped more was painting abstractly to try and pick up a mood.
I still like drawing though! And I still like making comics! But prose is different. You still need to create images but the tools are words. I mean, you wouldn't wear ice skates to play tennis would you? by @philippa_rice

Exciting news. Princesses of Space has been selected to be part of Nottingham Film Festival on 28th November. You can get tickets at @nottsfilmfest website.

We've been lucky to have a few of our films selected for events this year, including Like You Children's Film Festival in Memphis Tennessee, and Turku Animated Film Festival.

If you're running an event and would like to screen any of my stuff, get in touch! by @philippa_rice

The song is out now! For the animation I used a combination of hand-made techniques. A lot of painting and cut out parts. by @philippa_rice
