Simone and Ismael’s wedding on Friday was pure joy from start to finish. They met in Brighton, started a business and a family and celebrated their love with what felt like an endless wave of dancing. Down the aisle, into the room, on the floor, everywhere you looked there was movement, music and laughter. What a day! Pinch, punch, first post of the month. OCTOBER.

In a week where I’ve triumphantly dug out the shackets and jackets ready to launch my Autumn/Winter Collection, it’s still warm. We’ve really fucked this weather up, haven’t we?

Anyway, October. Just a handful of weddings this month, so we’re definitely into the final stages of the season now. This month takes me to @vaultymanor and @greatfosters which I’m delighted by.

I’ve genuinely loved the films I’ve delivered this year, particularly over the last few months. I feel like I’ve hit a really consistent run with the work. That’s mainly down to having brilliant couples, great weddings and loads of stories to work with. Slightly less to do with my continuing ability to keep everything in focus.

Let’s hold the standard in October Smith. Public pep talk…..done

Beckie and Chris at Mulberry House on Saturday, on what might, just might, have been my last properly sunny summer wedding of the year. Late September, blue skies, warm sunshine.

These two met on Tinder before Chris proposed in a hot air balloon over Disneyland Paris on Beckie’s 30th birthday. Beckie is scared of heights, which is some pretty important information that maybe should have been established beforehand. Also, if someone proposes in a hot air balloon, saying no does create some fairly awkward logistical problems. There’s nowhere to go.

Special mention to the actual star of the day, Bella, their little dog and honorary flower girl, who immediately won the hearts and minds of everyone present.
