By far the highlight of year 26 was being a part of your beautiful wedding 💕 Happy Birthday, Shannon! Here's hoping your 27th trip around the sun involves less global pandemics and more wine nights together. I'll forever miss being your roommate and only a bunk bed distance away, but here's hoping I get my butt back to the same city as you, sooner than later! Also had too much fun going through the plethora of old photos of us, but mostly wondering why we decided to pose behind a tree? 🤣 Love you and would risk a wardrobe malfunction for a funny photo with you any day! 😘 by @phillebert

Lazy Saturday breakfast tacos for lunch is always a good idea 👌🏼🌮

Delicious breakfast sausage from @thejegeneral + Trader's Joe's hashbrowns + scrambled eggs from our @central_brooklyn_csa share + a lil feta, avocado, and of course hot sauce! All tucked into some surprisingly simple homemade sourdough duck fat tortillas that I can't stop making. Recipe by @sarah_c_owens 🙌🏼 taken in Crown Heights by @phillebert

Bake Sale Alert! Excited to share that I'll be selling some baked goods this week, made by @eileennfitz @b.w.10689 and myself, in participation with the @bakersagainstracism virtual bake sale!! We will be donating profits from the sale to @audrelordeproject - a community organizing center in Brooklyn for LGBTSTGNC people of color communities. We'll be accepting orders Monday 6/15 - Thursday 6/18, for Saturday 6/20 Crown Heights pickup or possible local drop-off.

Sharing this not because I want to take up space or to make any of this about myself, but because I want to make sure the friends, co-workers, and community members I love, and their loves one, know that I am here for them, and standing with them. Standing against a system that does not work for them. A system that MURDERS them, without consiqence. You deserve better. You deserve SO MUCH MORE than apologies and Instagram activism. You deserve to freely live a life that is yours. To unapologetically be yourself in a world that values you for your unique contribution to our society. You deserve to be celebrated. You deserve to be supported by social systems and a government that works for you, not against you.
I have been hesitant to post anything, because I am nowhere near perfect. I have so much to learn. I CAN and WILL do better. I have been hesitant for fear of saying the wrong thing, not saying enough, and fear of being perceived as "performative" or attempting to boost my own "woke" image. But I've decided it's more important to make sure those I care about know I am HERE for them and standing with them, than to let them believe I am silent and complacent. I will continue reaching out and checking in, but please don't let my well intended white ass add in anyway to your already heavy emotional load. Hands down the best pork chop I've ever had! 🍖 Brown Sugar-Brined Pork Chop with Hot & Sour Peppers, over creamy polenta - delicious, but simple recipe from @food52 made with incredible pork chops that we got in our first subscription box with @thejegeneral 💕 taken in Crown Heights by @phillebert
