🎶Jassen Allen's Chirp Alert🦜 Last night, for a couple of hours... Myron's at the Smith Center became a New York City cabaret. My friend @phillip.officer put together and hosted an AMAZING show called A Celebration of Cabaret Legend, Mabel Mercer. He invited some amazingly talented individuals from New York City & several from Las Vegas (many I'm so fortunate to call my friends) to help celebrate Mabel Mercer's influence on the American songbook. Where she put the emphasis on the lyrics. Prioritizing storytelling. Last night was a masterclass of just that. I put together a highlight of pics & vids of several of the Las Vegas performers who entertained us last night. Please take a listen to hear some of the best to ever do it... DO IT! *On a personal note, I wanted to let my friends Dennis Bono & Amanda King know that I didn't record their songs because I didn't realize I could record until after their numbers. Trust me, they were both incredible.💕 . . . #jassenallen #singerslife #mabelmercer #lasvegas #cabaret by @phillip.officer
Congratulations to producer, director and singer @phillip.officer and the cast of MABEL at MYRON’S! What a fabulous show we had last night. Every performance was heartfelt and exquisite. I’m so proud to have been included in this production. Cabaret is my happy place. Singing it. Living it. Being completely immersed in it. This work is my favorite performing work to do. To do it alongside these outstanding performers was a joy. The cherry on top was being reunited with my dear friend from college, @craigrubano! I’ve known him since I was 19 years old when we sang together in a singing group at Yale. (@redhotandblueofyale) What a massive talent and a beautiful human being. I am so happy! This evening filled my heart and my soul. I’m beyond grateful. Congratulations to everyone! Swipe for pics. by @phillip.officer
