It was a wonderful time to be had playing with Diana Ross at the Wynn Hotel in Vegas a few weeks ago ….Here’s a short clip of me blowing over the A sections of the ballad “ Don’t Explain “ where she features the band …The baritone sax has always captured my curiosity and affinity over time and I love to play it when I get a chance ….Many thx to Eastman Winds for designing this amazing horn ….. by @phillipwhack

Isn’t it awesome when the guys in a band just plain enjoy each other’s company? @simonphillipsofficial and Protocol V took in a magical So Cal winter sunset together last weekend, engaged in friendly banter about favorite hotels and the track sequence on their upcoming album. More to follow!

So after practicing ALL DAY, I try to do something fun and challenging..Why not transcribe @kirkwhalum on bass clarinet from his solo on “Unconditional “.Something totally different..Kirk and @therealmarcusmiller have influenced me on the instrument ..The way they externalize on their instruments encapsulates a vibe that I’m inspired by ..It’s the church , funk, pocket, grease , life experience, etc…The journey is long so I just keep chipping away..#clarinete #clarinet #bassclarinet #clarinets #clarinetplayer #clarinette #jazzsax #jazzsaxophonist #sax #saxophone #saxophonesofinstagram #saxophonepub #coffeemusic #losangeles #lamusic #saxman #saxophoneworld by @phillipwhack
