Two weeks ago I watched my first rugby match.

Last week we played a rugby event.

Last night somehow we ended up on the red carpet at the 2026 Rugby Awards.

Still don’t fully understand rugby, but I’m getting good at watching the match with a cold pint in my hand.

We took this picture together last Sunday on Phill’s 43rd birthday. As many of you know, we’ve been best friends since the first time we met when we were 18 years old. Back then we had no idea what kind of journey we were signing up for together. We often talk about our first conversations when all we wanted out of life was to change lives with our music. Over the last few months we haven’t been very active on socials or playing shows, we both shifted our focus toward figuring out exactly what we want for our futures. We will both always wholeheartedly support each other through anything and everything moving forward, that will never change. We’re both at peace with our decision, to set Wayland the band down indefinitely. We are so proud of the music we’ve made, the friends we’ve made, and the lives we’ve touched. First and foremost, we want to thank everybody who has ever called themselves a Wayland Warrior. Thank you for traveling to the shows, calling radio stations, buying merch, voting online, commenting on posts, sharing the music, and turning it up as loud as it will go. The two of us are so grateful for all the musicians who have joined us on stage and in the studio, the managers believed in us, the producers who brought out the best in us, the promoters who took a chance on us, the radio folks who welcomed us in and gave us the opportunity to reach so many hearts, and the bus drivers and crew members who were in the trenches with us. Birthdays are always a time of reflection and recalibration for me. It’s more personal to me than New Years, even though it’s only 11 days later. The last few weeks have been such an amazing reminder of how many true friends I have. Even though with some of you, we don’t see each other often, it’s been incredible to feel the love, support, and connection. So thank you for reaching out. I’ve never felt so refreshed, refocused, and ready to be moving into life’s next chapter. This one is all about the true essence of happiness. Not chasing it, but defining, realizing, and finally waking up to it all in perfect timing. The fun part is that I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface.
