#RockieReyes is another institution in North Philly Rap & Hip Hop. Originally known as LuRock, he battled on the Cypher on the Zulu & the Family Radio Show on Philly 103.9FM in ‘98 & ‘99. He would change his moniker and collab with NOX & Myke Storm and form the Ghost Writaz and work with many others. He released projects that shared street experience, grit, confidence and even philosophical and political views. Rockie is featured in all of our mixtapes, including spitting over a Jay-Z classic in 2009 for Volume 2. Now known as @lusiferthegod, he still releases fire music and thought-provoking content, including his SVN & 3R33 EPs #phillyhiphop #badlands #northphilly latinosstandup by @phillyhotspanix

As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Mz Lynx is a North Philly raised hip-hop artist and business professional known as the “Philly’s Rap Princess.” Bursting on the scene as a teenager in the mid ‘00s, she built a reputation in Philly Hip-Hop with her sharp lyrics and warm delivery. She would perform on tracks and stages non-stop. Notably, she battled on Philly radio in 2006 and appeared in MTV’s Rap Fix Live in 2012, while presenting to @realsway and Philly Rap royalty, EVE! She would collaborate with the likes of @thekidbearone, Ms Jade, @peedicrakk, Indy 500, Team Wreck, The Squadaz, Rockie Reyes and more! Juggling music and other aspirations, she still hits hard with a single once in awhile. “Been Along Time” from 2013 is great example of that! You can find @mzlynxofficial’s videos on YouTube! #mzlynx #hispanicheritagemonth #phillyrap #throwbackthursday #phillyhiphop by @phillyhotspanix

#ThrowbackThursday: DJ KISKI (1/31/66-7/14/14) was Philly’s pioneer for Latin rappers & DJs way before any of the people that we promote today. He hustled mixtapes & CDs throughout the 80s, 90s and 00’s and performed countlessly and confidently until his passing. In 1988, KISKI had a competitive hip-hop beef with Tuff Crew, and he was still described as an inspiration & adversary by the equally legendary DJ Too Tuff. KISKI represented the Philly PR community with his street single “Because I’m Puerto Rican,” which can still be found on SoundCloud & YouTube, along with other rare records, freestyles and remixes. Shout to @immortalfilmz for keeping his legacy alive. #djkiski #badlands #phillyhiphop #hispanicheritagemonth by @phillyhotspanix

HBD to @bigdognox! 🍾🎂🎉💪🏼 From LuNox to Sour Dough to the Ghost Writaz. To the Atlantic signing and the Scott Storch Era complete with Timbaland Beef. To Amber Rose. To the Independent Pivot with more countless anthems. To Etunez. To the Latin Goonies and to the DSG Movement. There is no denying that Big Dog Nox, is perhaps one of the most influential, extravagant, creative and spotlight-grabbing artists to come from the Badlands of NP. There’s more that must be studied. There’s more that must be said. Just Keep the hits coming big bro! 😎 #bigdognox #latingoonies #phillyhiphop #phillyrap #latinosstandup by @phillyhotspanix
