All smiles at the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association Noche de Gala. Community and family filled the room. We have to stick together, support each other and lift each other up during these trying times. ¡Felicidades a todos los homenajeados! taken in The Palace Hotel, San Franciso by @philontherecord

It’s been an honor to serve on the Federal Bar Association’s Younger Lawyer’s Division Board this year as a Ninth Circuit Representative. With support from the FBA Northern District of California chapter, we’ve been able to organize fascinating programs, such as this one on how the Supreme Court’s Emergency Docket is changing the face of litigation.

This past spring, we gathered in Courtroom One of the Browning Courthouse in San Francisco for a conversation about how a growing share of the most consequential judicial decisions of our time now come through the Supreme Court’s emergency docket (also called the interim relief docket or “shadow docket”), often on compressed timelines and short records. Understanding how it works, and how to practice before it, matters more than ever for those litigating over the biggest policies in our democracy.

Gratitude to Judge Christen, Solicitor General Harbourt, Brian Fletcher, and Isaac Park for the generous and candid insights they shared with Gurpreet and me, and to everyone who joined us in person and online.

Always inspired by @jonossoff ‘s leadership, moral clarity, and unifying oratory. I’ve been grateful to meet him a couple times during his visits to San Francisco and hope he can help secure a democratic majority in Congress to help check the excesses of this administration that has trampled the freedoms of so many. by @philontherecord

Last month I had the honor of helping to organize a panel on the politics of adoption and reproductive justice for @alicelgbtqdems.

My mom was placed anonymously for adoption and I witnessed the years of her anxiously searching for answers. Despite the uncertainty, she was lucky to have been adopted by my loving grandparents, Keiko Sai Cordero and Mauro Cordero.

The stories the panelists shared illustrated both the complexity and beauty of family building that so many people experience. @gretchen.sisson @thesusanito @k8shots taken in The Academy SF by @philontherecord

Bittersweet to have wrapped up my clerkship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. It had been a privilege working alongside so many hardworking, intelligent judges, clerks, and professionals dedicated to upholding the rule of law. The cases that came before our courthouse doors in San Francisco, Pasadena, Phoenix, Seattle, Honolulu, and more exemplified the breadth of the American West. Many cases also epitomized the fault lines pulling at the foundation of our democracy. This experience has deepened my understanding of these complexities — what parts of our country’s institutions need defending and what parts are badly in need of reform.

I’m thrilled to be returning home to San Francisco next week to begin my next chapter at Wilson Sonsini, joining their Internet Strategy & Litigation and Supreme Court & Appellate practice groups. Excited to roll up my sleeves again in service of clients and community 🌉 ⚖️🏛️ taken in Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals by @philontherecord
