Synopsis : Yusuf arrives in Jamia in 2022 with a world already behind him, a childhood in Malwa where friendship had little to do with the identities people later learn to carry. But Delhi begins to complicate that inheritance. The protests around Jamia, police action, and the atmosphere of suspicion make him look back at the memories he once took for granted.

That journey takes him back to Agar Malwa, to Pandit Ji, to the people and experiences that shaped his earliest understanding of friendship, faith and difference. It also takes him to Indore, where theatre enters his life and gives him a way of making sense of what he is witnessing.

Pandit Ki Daud M***** Tak moves between these places and times, between the personal and the political, asking how quietly a country can change, and how those changes begin to enter our homes, friendships and ways of seeing one another.

At its heart, it is an attempt to hold on to a memory of Hindustan while looking honestly at the one we are living in now.

A few days ago, I watched al play of @yusuffice
The play inspired me to create this Reel, especially after understanding this beautiful Kabir doha:

“कुआँ एक है, पानी भरे अनेक।
भाँडे में ही भेद है, पानी सब में एक।”

Different vessels, same water.
So why do we fight over the vessels?

@yusuffice “Pandit ki daud M*****tak” has to be one of the most thought provoking piece I have seen this year because I never thought post the show I’d break down so badly. @_harshikaaa___ thank you for giving me water and comforting me it meant a lot🙃. Coming to the point, what you created emphasised how religion can be used as a tool for hatred, how your religious identity becomes a mark of prejudice and how that very way of thinking is sickening to the core. I am not the same person after seeing this piece, I feel as if you released something within me, you showed me that the world is greater and far bigger than us as individuals. I hope this play travels far and wide and you are able to touch the hearts of many like minded souls, change perspectives of those minds corrupted by misguided information. @kshitij._ you have a good eye for stories that need to be told and this is one of those stories. Best of luck for the future shows 🤩🤩
