It was an absolute honor just to be selected by @janicemasonartmuseum for their biennial expo this year. Thank you so much for a wonderful reception; there was SO much incredible talent, I was floored! Also some extra pics to stress to artists out there: Trust. The. Process. Initially, I hated my recent Blanka painting, but it became one of my favorite pieces I've ever done. 🙏🫶

I just dropped off Pure Imagination to the Janice Mason Art Museum where it was accepted for their biennial expo! Fellow artist Rochelle Wasserman & her son, the new owner, were kind enough to lend it back to me for the occasion. I'm grateful to continue to be able to share it! 🙏

"Windfall" is on display for one more week at @dac.gallery downtown along with beautiful art from others in the area!

Available.

It's not exactly cheap, but to me it's essentially priceless. Proceeds will go towards more art supplies 🎨 also I'm giving 10% to a charity, probably Make-A-Wish 🙏

Thanks for supporting local artists! by @philsrare

"Windfall"

Tornado-salvaged pearwood, found stone, clay, cement, steel, and acrylic.

This is my first attempt at a sculpture. I'd been saving what was left of our pear tree which was destroyed by a tornado that hit us a few years ago. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, I just knew it looked cool. That is, until I decided to take a wood chisel to it and make a natural pedestal for an equally cool rock I found years later. Somewhere along the way the piece decided it had a face and a story of its own. After shaping it with clay and cement, I painted everything to match and resemble stone. I then hammered a name into some leftover metal that sounded quite fitting. Thanks for looking! 🌪️

It will be on display at @dac.gallery for the rest of the month along with pieces from many talented artists!

AVAILABLE.

Finally finished my acrylic painting of Jinx! It was a surprise for my wife who introduced me to Arcane: League of Legends. Of course I had to use "The Line" by TØP 🤌

"Pure Imagination"
25 x 23 inches
Acrylic on wood

Pure Imagination is a tribute to the boundless creativity of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, a film that has long captivated me with its visual charm and celebration of wonder. Gene’s performance suggests that nurturing your inner child, especially through creativity and imagination, is a way to keep the world magical.

For this piece, I challenged myself not to use a paintbrush; I used a rubber wedge and palette knives. It will be on display in Clarksville's DAC gallery for the rest of August.
