All meaningful PR milestones. I wanted to take a moment to appreciate these because I honestly never thought I’d get this far when I started powerlifting.
This just makes me want to push that much harder.

A little late with the meet recap but it took a while to process everything. This meet was a chance to measure my progress towards the goals I have set for the end of the year and wow, the future looks bright.
.
S:3/3 232.5kg/512lbs (7.5kg atpr)
B:2/3 147.5kg/325lbs (2.5kg meet pr)
D:3/3 300kg/661lbs (22.5kg meet pr)
.
Squats went better than I could have hoped. I FINALLY BROKE 500lbs!!!!! I honestly wondered if it would ever happen and what a way to smash through that barrier.
.
Bench was damage control. Misgroove on my second attempt clipped my wings a bit but I’m not too disappointed, there’s still room to grow and we’ve got some ideas to try moving forward.
.
Deadlift was everything. I’ve been chasing 300kg for over a year and hitting it in front of family and friends, the last lift of the meet, was a high I won’t forget.
.
I owe a debt of gratitude to so many people.
@lifeunderload for your collaborative coaching, your patience, your ruthless programming, and your unbelievably attentive handling on meet day. Truly an athletes coach.
@itsjustdaee for supporting me without question. The way you’ve allowed me to pour myself into this endeavor is incredible. You’ve handled my whirlwind of emotions, my endless hours at the gym, my obsession over every little technique adjustment, and my non stop talking about my journey with nothing but grace.
@musclemadness83kg @kvnmrtzz and @dany.pwr for so much free technique consultation and for believing in me even when I felt too old and too lanky to be doing this.
There are so many others, yall make all the time working a real joy, full of laughs and optimism. The community is what makes this all worthwhile.

Another trip around the sun. More experiences for my autobiography. More gray hair too.

Reminiscing on the past year is whiplash inducing. It was a year full of change, growth, struggle, and celebration for me and so many of the people I love.

Looking forward to the coming year I see nothing but possibilities and the people closest to me have helped me see the path I get to carve through it all.

34 has already started with a bang…
