this project took everything out of me. i was a husk of the person i was at the beginning of the fall semester when i turned this in. they weren’t joking when they said biome was hard fr. i’m proud of myself for making it through with a good grade and all my limbs. here comes thesis☹️

after a nauseating eight weeks i’m finally done with this bad boy
i learned a lot about modeling and materials through this project and i’m super grateful for the experience i’ve gained as a game artist. i hate vehicles now though
-
i referenced a 1963 volkswagen samba bus
modeled in maya and rendered in unreal engine

art v artist- crazy year !
i led a ton of team projects, fumbled my personal ones a lil, got really sick, got really better, cried a ton, played a lot and laughed even more
i did more wrong than i usually do but the new years are for growing better
being at ringling for four years taught me that i really do love school and learning, and that i thrive around people who think creatively like me. i wish i could properly express how grateful i am for the friends i had this year, whether they finished w me or not, i wouldn’t trade the memories for anything
i still have a lot of living to do so see you next year :]

pitch 2 is over!
here’s a couple of slides from my second presentation for my pitch Mad Slimentist. in this third person game, you play as a mad scientist whose experiment went wrong and turned him into slime. the player is tasked with gathering components to create an antidote while avoiding environmental hazards around the lab.
im not gonna lie, i had way more fun with this pitch than i expected. i tried to change the slime mechanic to something having to do with electricity, but my visdev professor pushed me into the slime realm. im glad he did because i love this sticky situation i’ve created. im proud to say that i also passed this pitch, and now it’s time to choose between this one or Green Red Planet. im having a decently hard time deciding..

here’s a few slides from my first thesis pitch- green red planet. in this first person shooter, you play as N.A.T., an android astrobiologist whose been tasked to exterminate the pests inside of a greenhouse on mars. proud to say that 9/9 game art faculty members greenlit this bad boy and I have the chance to develop this further into my thesis. even if pitch 2 ends up being something i end up liking more, i still really enjoyed developing this little world :D
-
huge shoutout to @mossmushroom2021 for your design help, critique, and help with very basic functions as i began to shut down closer to the pitch :,) you’re so talented and thank you for dealing with my loss of cognitive function you deserve an award fr
ps i love my friends
