Day 2 of #PHM26 was packed from start to finish!

We started bright and early an incredible plenary session on “Beyond Expertise: Influence, Trust, and the Future of Pediatric Advocacy” with Dr. Lauren Gambill.

From there, the day flew by with high-yield morning workshops, oral research presentations, and the midday Research Abstract Plenary.

The afternoon kept the momentum going with sessions covering everything from the Workforce, advocacy, physician wellness and even a musical performance. Plus there were so many amazing posters at our various e-poster sessions.

The day ended with networking and learning how we can get more involved at the Section on Hospital Medicine Expo.

Day 1 of #PHM2026 in Kansas City is officially in the books!

After everyone traveled in and wrapped up the morning preconferences, we kicked off the main event with an incredible opening video featuring hospitalists sharing what they love about pediatric hospital medicine and what makes this conference so special. That set the stage for Dr. Alisa Kahn’s inspiring plenary, “Listening to Families: A Pediatric Hospital Medicine Superpower.”

The rest of the afternoon was packed with high-yield sessions: from workshops on professional development, med ed, physician wellness, and QI Shark Tank, to some interesting mini-plenaries and quick hits. We rounded out Day 1 catching up with colleagues and exploring research at the e-poster session and reception!

Looking forward to tomorrow! What was your favorite moment or takeaway from Day 1? Let us know in the comments below!
