Somewhere in the countryside in Bologna, Italy, we heard some dogs having a right ol’ laugh and thought, oh hey let us sing with you dear souls.

It started off with them as one of the voices and they got more and more dense and singy through the piece to the point of us being the listeners and them devising the composition without us silly humans.

TRACCE NEL PRESENTE | Site-Specific Performance

Bentivoglio, Italy - 4 September 2026.

An excerpt from the closing performance of the public sharing of Tracce nel Presente, an international artistic research residency exploring the relationship between voice, movement, collective improvisation, and territory.

This site-specific improvisation emerged from the encounters and experiences of the preceding days: the landscapes explored, the stories shared, and the relationship established with the people and cultural memory of Bentivoglio.

Following a film screening and a live performance by the Coro delle Mondine di Bentivoglio, the improvisers brought these experiences into a collective improvised performance, allowing the present moment to be shaped by the voices, histories, and relationships encountered along the way.

The first iteration of The UK Vocal Improv Cabaret, hosted by Phoebe and Uran at Music Tree, London, was SO much fun! Still buzzing… ✨

People came all the way from Frome, Bristol, Brighton and London. Some came just to watch, but they got caught up in the magic of it all, and by the end, everyone in the room had performed at least once! Wow, wow, wow. 🥹💛

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and a special shout-out to Tiziana and the Music Tree team for making it all possible! ❤️

In the meantime, us improv elves are busy working behind the scenes on Gathering Song: our upcoming festival of vocal improvisation in nature, taking place 11–13 June 2027 at Braziers Park, Oxfordshire. 🌿🎶

Our tour Kicks Off in LYON, with a wild and wondrous 2 day workshop open to anyone who loves vocal improv!

In this 2 day, one-off workshop held in Lyon, Oöm will fold you into the inner workings of our shared brains and we will go on a journey together. Come experiment and play with the forms and structures we love. Opportunities to grow your musical practice and expand your improv toolkit. We will come with lots of ideas but will be co-creating the journey with you so we can lean into any wants or wishes.

Who is it for?
For humans who can keep a pulse and pitch and want to play with us.
Workshop will be in English.

Places are limited to 20.

After a whole week of being back in London (I know, shocking - more on this later), I’m heading back into a land of thick harmonies, talented singers, wild dancing and epic performances.

Heading to Gloucester to rehearse ‘Everything Slips’ by @veritystandensings ahead of the October shows coming up. It has been such a joy to get to know all of the folks who have worked on this production. I’ve spent weeks away experimenting, reworking, rehearsing and attending with all of my brain power and it was such an utter joy to put it into the world in May in Bristol to a standing ovation. I really felt that the music was so much to hold and that it suddenly made sense when we performed it to an audience.

I felt pretty comfortable in the music creation section, enjoying the fast paced experimentation and layering, and I met my edges around the more theatrical sides. Working closely with an amazing choreographer @jenoirrenoir to stage the show, following directions is not something I’ve done a huge amount of but I loved the process. It really helps when you have two women who demonstrate beautiful synchronicity, negotiation and creativity real time, massively supporting each other and us.

So, Everything Slips’ is continuing to tour this October. It is one of the best things I have been in for sure.
