POV: How I see my dog and how she sees herself are not quite the same. Why? Cause she has Main Character vibes. 🤩❤️

• Someone walks by the house
• I pet another dog
• I open a snack
• The doorbell rings
• We leave for an errand
• When dinner is late

The level of importance she assigns herself is honestly impressive. 😂

Reality?

A 25-pound whippet who spends most of the day looking for the softest place in the house to nap. 😂

I make no apologies for breeding whippets. I heath test all my moms and I insist that the dads are heath tested also…every single year to make sure they are up to date. I carefully study pedigrees, prove my dogs are the excellent examples of the breed, screen prospective owners, have a contract that includes the buyer agreeing that if they EVER don’t want their dog, they come back home. I believe in freedom of choice. Adopt OR Shop. I don’t believe breeders like me are the problem. It’s crappy owners that don’t insist on only supporting responsible preservation breeders or legit adoption centers. Nearly a million dogs were being imported into the USA to fulfill the demand. I’m not the problem.

🐾 We hear a lot about unethical breeders and puppy mills… but what about the role of the puppy buyer?

Most people don’t know what questions to ask when looking for a puppy. And why would they? It’s not something we’re typically taught. We see an adorable puppy, fall in love, and sometimes let our hearts make the decision before we’ve done our homework. ❤️

But here’s the thing: The choices we make as puppy buyers help shape the future of dog breeding.

Every puppy deserves the best possible start in life, and every buyer deserves the information needed to make an informed decision.

This isn’t about judging anyone for where they got their dog. It’s about learning, asking better questions, recognizing red flags, and making more informed choices going forward.

🔎 Not sure where to start? I’ve dedicated an entire page on my website to choosing an ethical breeder. You’ll find helpful information about what to look for and what questions to ask. Visit the link in my bio!

🐶 Like this Reel and follow along for upcoming videos about:
❤️ Health testing, what it is and why it matters
🔍 How to recognize responsible breeders
🚩 Red flags and what to avoid
📚 Tips for becoming a more informed puppy buyer

And of course, plenty of adorable puppies, silly antics, and the everyday adventures of our four-legged crew! 🐾😂

The more we know, the better choices we can make. And that’s a win for dogs and the people who love them. ❤️

💬 I’d love to hear from you: When you got your first dog, did you know what questions to ask?

🚨🐾 CRIME WAVE AT PHOENIX WHIPPETS! 📦

We’ve got a package theft ring operating right out of our own backyard, and the ringleader is none other than Luna the Fun Police. 👮‍♀️

Apparently, when she’s off duty policing everyone else’s fun, she’s running an organized crime syndicate. And she’s been recruiting accomplices. 🤦‍♀️

It’s gotten so bad that our regular Amazon driver now leaves packages OUTSIDE the gate. But substitute drivers? They haven’t gotten the memo. 😳

And don’t think the gate stops these criminals. If a package is within nose-reach, it’s fair game.

The evidence? Amazon’s own delivery photos and a slew of damaged goods. 📸

At this point, I’m not sure whether we need better security or a canine defense attorney. ⚖️🐕

Does anyone else have a porch pirate with four legs? 😂

Apparently, maternity leave does NOT mean taking a break from Halloween festivities! 🎃👻💅

Diana the Diva may be busy with her four little pumpkins, but she REFUSES to sit out spooky season! So we’re digging into the Diva’s photo vault for a little Halloween fashion show. 📸✨

🤠 The Cowgirl – Jessie from Toy Story, ready to round up some trouble!

👑 The Princess – Because every Diva deserves a crown!

📣 The Cheerleader – Bringing the spirit, even from the maternity ward!

Three costumes. One Diva. Absolutely no intention of being upstaged by her own puppies. 💁‍♀️🐾

Now YOU get to be the judge! Which Diana gets your vote for Halloween?

🤠🐾 There’s a new sheriff in town… make that FOUR! 🐾🤠

After weeks of anticipation, Diana the Diva has officially traded her tiara for a mama’s hat! 👑❤️

On October 9, Diana welcomed four beautiful little blessings into the world — two cowgirls and two cowboys! And just like that, our little Diva became a first-time mama. 🥹💕

Meet the newest members of the Phoenix family:

🌵 Phoenix Calamity Jane — “Jane” 🎀
✨ Phoenix Rhinestone Cowgirl — “Dolly” 🎀
⭐ Phoenix Lone Ranger — “Junior” 💙
🤠 Phoenix Spaghetti Western — “Clint” 💙

Watching Diana gently clean and care for her babies, discovering those maternal instincts for the very first time, is something truly special. The little girl who has always been the center of attention now has four tiny lives depending on her. ❤️

Welcome to the world, little ones. You are already loved more than you could ever know.

And Diana? You’re going to be one amazing mama. 💕
