As a kid I always had a hard time dealing with changes, especially moving places.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve grown but I still retain a strong sentimentality towards the places I’ve lived. I miss my family, my home, and I miss driving around the suburbs to just screw around the whole day 😭. If I didn’t have work during the day I would literally spend the entire day out either doing plain air, scouting out new areas (or old areas from my childhood) to paint and take pictures, or hang out at a grocery store to get my work done. I would probably drive an hour or two every day visiting random suburbs on the way, sometimes just to walk around.

I think that’s why I like these paintings, they remind me of a time where I felt the most free and most creative I’ve ever felt in my life. The portfolio grind from 2024-2025 was unreal for me, so much has changed and everyone has come so far. It’s crazy I can feel nostalgia for something less than a year ago and that there are many days such as this one that I can recall clearly and remember fondly. I’m excited to see what the future holds, but i can’t help but reminisce the past. by @phoenixyipart

Out of everything I make these paintings mean the most to me. There’s a certain beauty about stating things plainly. by @phoenixyipart

I really don’t know how to do captions. Here’s some of the peregrine knight guys I drew awhile back! I just revisited it to touch up some things and I’m not completely satisfied tbh. don’t be surprised if this gets reposted haha by @phoenixyipart
