yooooo I graduated?!!

I officially have my BFA in graphic design! I'm so proud of my time at Sac State and so grateful to have met the people who helped, supported, and grew with me along the way. Cohort A, I love you forever and I feel so lucky for every day I spent in those classrooms with all of you no matter what was going on.

Biggest thanks to the coolest friend + photographer I know @phongdtran by @phongdtran

took me long enough huh?

i am super excited to announce that a limited run of MUDBYRD’s debut issue is now exclusively being sold at demo arts & books (@demo.spot).

MUDBYRD is an independent publication established in 2023 with a strong emphasis on the local music scene in sacramento. it is the collective brainchild of my friends, justin, gladys, erica, and jay and i. the magazine tells a story of community, persistence, and authenticity with its narrative structure taking the reader through the history and current era of sacramento’s underground music scene through the lens of local venues and their inspiring successes, struggles, and efforts in providing a platform of self-expression. the zine’s layout is in service of representing the community members that contribute to the music and creative economy of sacramento. each copy in this limited run was meticulously hand-crafted, giving each iteration of the magazine its own little quirks and identity.

huge huge shoutout to @demo.spot for trusting in the vision and being so willing to provide a nest to MUDBYRD.

// ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE GOING TO DEMO.
MUDBYRD is rooted in community, collaboration, and a collective passion for the creative culture in sacramento. with demo championing these same principles through their efforts in providing a safe, creative space for young artists to gather, it only makes sense that sales from this magazine go towards and support the future and preservation of such a place.
