I beat depression, graduated, found a loving partner, and have a stable job and I couldn’t be more grateful to sit barricade and relive the happy moments of my teens 💜 My mom would be so happy and proud (I mean of all that I’ve accomplished… Maybe not for the amount of money I’ve spent for BTS VIP tickets heheh) 😙

So many people were asking me if it’s worth it at @omakasedc and I thought the experience was very engaging, lively, and refined while also comfortable because the staff were so detail oriented, everything was so tasty, and they seem like they truly love the work they do! The $210 was the base price without add-ons, fees, tax, or tip! I’m glad we got to try the extras and sake, but when I go again, I will probably do just the base (and maybe another toro hand roll lol) but either way the night was really wonderful and special :)

My FAVES from the evening:
• Sole / flounder - so fatty + citrusy top yumm
• Tuna hand roll - I got a second because it was so rich and fatty!
• Aji + ginger - SO refreshing

i got this at @paksoii_izakaya for $19 and it was so yummy! it was so creamy, but filled with umami ~ no skimping on the roe at all!!

No more shifty playing because I’m afraid of ruining the soles on my @brooksrunning sneakers ~ We ended up buying the @kswiss Hypercourt Supreme 2s and they’re SOOO freakin cute they match the courts 😭

NGL we just googled “good tennis shoes” and I saw K-Swisses and some Nikes but I couldn’t find the specific ones at Dick’s or Nike so we just googled “tennis shoe store near me” and voila! I’m also a W size 9 if this helps you know why I was looking for comfy shoes that didn’t make my feet look like I had the longest feet in the kingdom lol

I like to go to happy hour to taste the food and drink as an affordable dinner, and @mias_italian_kitchen was v good and so close to the waterfront! This was a perfect Thursday in @visitoldtownalx hanging w/ @thewin0na (shoutout for the light ~)

My favorites were the white sangria, giant meatball, and the pizza! The pizza kinda reminded me of the mini personal pan pizzas from pizza hut but cheesier and better ingredients lol and I loved the crisp and richness from the cacio e pepe arancini :)

• i don’t always get a drink at HH but this sangria was SOO yummy
• i could taste some alc, but it was mixed well, and was basically like juice - dangerous!!

Never tried @joeandthejuice even though I’ve been to Copenhagen this year LOL but everything was very light and healthy, I enjoyed it a lot! And the vibe was pretty cool and trendy inside :)

OUR ORDER:
🥪 Tunacado sandwich $12
• Creamy tuna “mousse” and refreshing! I liked it - not too fishy and light! and the bread was nice and toasted :)
🍗 Spicy chicken ceasar salad sandwich $15
• Tasty but the tabasco sauce was only on the bottom half so I got the spicy/kick for a few bites, and the Bread was much harder here since it didn’t have as much sauce to soften it
🥬 Green Shield juice + lemon $13.10
• Super refreshing, sweet, slightly sour, slightly earthy. i loved it!! just what i was craving from the nic bodegas lol
🥜 Nutty Smoothie $12.40
• Julio’s favorite! “more flavor” not mine bc it was too creamy for me, i wanted something fruity!
🌟 Miami Glow Smoothie $12.40
• Slightly sweet, berry taste with milk

• Sweet, blended well, and the almond butter adds a nice depth of richness and flavor to it!

Spent the most amazing evening at Prince of Wales in Old Town Alexandria! As an introvert, I loved that there were so many gorgeous rooms and a garden patio where I could easily step away throughout the night! It’s a beautiful, and intimate but elevated venue for bachelorettes, weekend getaways, and all the special gatherings ☺️

What better way to show my love than through baking the birthday dessert he’s gotten every year <3 happy bday juli :) and yes i know i dropped cake chonk on top 😭

INGREDIENTS:
items:
- 1 saucepan for caramel cooking
- 1 cake pan
- 1 larger baking / casserole pan for the water bath that can fit your cake pan easily
- Foil

caramel:
- sugar (about 1 cup)
- or you can use caramel syrup instead if you don’t feel like making it yourself
flan:
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 1 can of
- 1.5 tsp of vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 5 oz cream cheese (i use neufchâtel cheese for less fat lol)
- Warm/hot water
cake:
- cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c oil
- 1 c milk instead of water

1. Preheat oven to 350*F
2. Spray your pan w/ PAM (i used a new avocado oil spray and it didn’t acc make it nonstick that’s why it looks funky 😭)
3. Warm up some water for the oven batch
4. Cook the caramel by adding 1 c of sugar to a nonstick pan
1. wait for the bottom to get a little golden
2. Mix and continue til it’s a beautiful golden brown liquid since it’s easy to burn!
5. Pour the caramel all over the bottom of the cake pan (it hardens quickly!)
6. Pour hot water into your water bath pan
7. Blend or mix the ingredients for the flan on low
8. Pour the flan mixture into the cake pan (you can put it through a sieve if you don’t want the cream cheese chunks - i just let mine be ugly freely)
9. Cover the cake pan with foil
10. Put the cake pan in the water bath and into the oven for 50 minutes.
11. Mix the cake ingredients. Be sure to replace the water with milk!
12. Add the cake mixture on top of the flan mixture so long as it’s not liquidy anymore)
13. Cover with foil
14. Bake again for 50 minutes.
15. Check to make sure the cake is baked thoroughly with a toothpick.
16. Let it cool.
17. Refrigerate overnight and flip for the next morning!
18. If you want a viet twist, top it off with coffee or espresso! <3

Ep. 13 | Last minute = didn’t account for the weather & didn’t check “view from my seat” before buying but we were still pleasantly surprised as to how close we were (much closer than when we went to their first tour which is where the backtrack was way too loud… which they don’t need at all 😩!) hehe. Stadium was packed (lowkey not a lot of dancing and lots of phones up tho </3) but we had the most fun spontaneous night out together seeing @aespa_official ! <3 Do you like going to concerts last minute? :)

• SOOO GOOD and topped with eel & salmon!
• Portion is gigantic, filling!!!
• I’ve ordered this like 6 times lol - my go-to!

🍣 Sashimi Deluxe $49.95
• Tasty, simple, FRESH, and the FATTEST cuts!
• The white fish is SOO fire and the king salmon is always so good and fatty
• Comes with soup and salad! (I LOVEE their salad dressing and I’m picky w my salad dressings - it’s super nutty and sweet and refreshing!)

🌶️ Hamachi Crudo
• Served with truffle sweet soy
• Jalapeño is pickled, not spicy, and sweet!
