It is my belief that through the rise of AI in the near future, much of the musical landscape will be dominated by realtime, personalized, endlessly-generated music which will be delivered directly to our brains simply by thinking.

My goal with this record was to create generative music within the confines of Ableton live 12.2 that sounds like a live jamming band (a drummer, bassist, and synth player). The kind of thing you might hear in a smoky bar on a rainy evening.

Althought the cover art is AI generated, the music is not. It was created 100% inside of Ableton Live using midi effects, probability, random note and chord selection, random realtime midi note nudging, random Follow Actions, and Scale Awareness.

These two 30 minute pieces are two variations on a commmon theme of C Minor Blues, G# Hungarian minor scale, and G Bhairav scale, using three separate tempos. The three scales and various BPM values are being randomly modulated within a certain set of time parameters.

These pieces are unedited. They are exactly as they were generated.

experimental vhs glitch. generative glitches and piano sounds came from ableton 12, and the video came from resolume. the audio and video were recorded on a vhs tape. this is the vhs tape playing back the madness by @phosphorevisual

I know I haven’t been active on social media a lot lately, but I’ve been super busy putting my new studio together! I’ve been building acoustic panels, re-organizing everything, building rolling carts and generally re-evaluating my entire setup. It will be much easier to have collab sessions in this new space, and having more space is such a breath of fresh air I can’t even tell you. Not aure what my next big project will be, but I now feel like I have enough space to stretch out a bit and I have space for all my gear to be set up and accessible quickly.
