The heatwave, which had pushed the temperatures up to an unbelievable 39 degrees, had brought the whole city to a standstill for several days. However, that didn’t stop Berlin’s D&B scene from turning up in force yesterday at the @metalheadzmusic session at @clubgretchen! What an amazing party! And that was down to one man in particular: the incredible @photek! Sometimes even I’m lost for words to describe just how unbelievably good it was. But anyone who was there will surely agree that this was so much more than just another event! It was a journey through music the way I’ve rarely experienced it in over 30 years. An unforgettable memory that will be etched forever in my mental history book. Much love again to the legend that is Photek for his set, always a pleasure and an honour to share the stage with you! And a big round of shout-outs to the Berlin ravers for showing up, despite the weather, to make this night something truly exceptional! ❤️ taken in Club GRETCHEN by @photek

We’re excited to announce that @photek has officially joined The Circuit Group family 🤘

One of electronic music’s true architects, Photek helped lay the foundations of drum & bass and jungle, reshaping the genre with his 1997 debut Modus Operandi, a record still regarded as a blueprint nearly three decades later 🎧

But his work has never been confined to a single genre. Photek earned three consecutive Grammy nominations for Best Remixed Recording, for Daft Punk’s “End of Line” from Tron: Legacy, Moby’s “Lie Down in Darkness,” and “One Love/People Get Ready,” and his music has scored Hollywood film and television, placing him among the most versatile artists electronic music has produced.

He is almost something of a mythical figure. His musical influence on the scene is indisputable, and he is repeatedly cited as a role model by those who have long since achieved legendary status themselves. Where others reached their limits, his creative output only began to truly flourish. @photek has always gone his own way and has therefore always remained free from all constraints. His creative genius extends far beyond D&B, yet he always finds his way back to its roots. After an incredibly long wait, he is finally returning to Berlin to inspire us with his art!

On 27 June the next @metalheadzmusic session will be taking place at @clubgretchen and we are incredibly excited! Also on the lineup are @djgrooverider, @tomdiverge, @ndee.smoothctrl and Sammy B of @deviatemate.de! And on mic duties we’ve got MC @jamiewhiteberlin!
