Project Nigerian: In honor of all the headliners for the AfroPlus Festival being from Nigeria, I did a color coordinated shoot that includes the colors of the Nigerian flag in both the location and outfit of the model.

Nigerian Afrobeats has transitioned from a localized African rhythm into a multi-billion dollar global phenomenon, anchoring itself firmly in mainstream international pop culture. Driven by the streaming giants like Spotify and Apple Music, contemporary hitmakers have pushed past the foundational blueprint to introduce a more atmospheric and deeper rhythmic palette. While the “Big Three”—Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido—continue their record-shattering dominance on international arena stages, their current sound is propelled by a new generation of genre-bending disruptors. Hitmakers like Olamide and Tems have revolutionized the genre by injecting the high-energy, indigenous street sounds of Fuji and Yoruba vocal chants into electronic amapiano logs, creating a hypnotic subgenre known as Streetpop. Simultaneously, global icons like Flavour, Ayra Starr, and Tiwa Savage have redefined the movement by blending raw emotional vulnerability with impressively unique beats.
