For my 37th year I went out west for the first time with the homie. After a year of finally finishing, graduating at LaGuardia and applying to schools, I needed a break. Shit was wild! Sudden blizzards, pitch black country roads and some good old racism. But that ain’t stop us, the Grand Canyon literally blew my mind; it’s the most beautiful thing/place I’ve ever seen. The Hoover dam was crazy! The desert was just beautiful. The mountains was beautiful. I’m glad I took the time to see. taken in The Grand Canyon National Park by @photographyalex

I wanna fly, I wanna swim, I wanna walk on water
I’m on a limb, I’m running thin
I’m running out of time
Old lovers’ green
Put em on a lien
I lent out my envy to another place in time
So baby don’t cry for me ;)

Shooting these clips and the song image was a lil crazy ngl. For months @photographyalex and I had been playing with double exposure. Ultimately I had to scrap that because my dad was suddenly going into a procedure for the month of May. So I said FUCK IT let’s shoot at the train station and get it done. We pack a cart with @evaneven and @robinwongmusic and carry a folding chair to the train. It’s gonna rain, so I buy a couple of huge umbrellas because @neeeeena got me this gorgeous green suede jacket and I will cry if it gets ruined. We shoot at the train, photos go well but you’re not allowed to use a tripod without a permit. So we get two takes of video before the cops shut us down 😂 At one point some random lady even sat in my chair when I stood up for a second, I’m like b***….. 😂 Evan ofc flexes on the video edit with his multifaceted film school brain and here we are! I loveeee this moment when the train comes behind me! I loveeee the color edit! Generally in life I’m a big planner, but I love the organic raw process of creation, and accepting what IS.

Don’t Cry is out now on all platforms! 💚 & if you read this far, thanks for being here with me on the journey. by @photographyalex

Don’t Cry is about empowerment, it’s about growth, it’s about focusing on your dreams and goals, and letting life come to you. Why would I be caught up in some bs when I want to FLY? I wrote this lil retro rnb track to remind people (and myself) that life is big, but our dreams should be BIGGER 💚
