COMEBACK COMPLETE.

Spartans took a 25-14 lead when Danny Strelow connected with Kamari Polk for a 79-yard touchdown. They missed a PAT.

But the Bulldogs wanted to erase that 11-point deficit.

Eric Jacobs returned a kickoff 65-yards for a TD on the next play. 2-point conversion was not good.

Jacobs dump passes to Jordan Lewis and he takes it all the way for a 69-yard TD and ends up completing the 2-point conversion giving Richards their first lead since the first quarter. Just 3:13 now left in the game,

The Spartans had a shot late but Bulldogs’ Josh Valenzuela recovers a fumble at the Bulldogs 1-yard line which prevented a score and secured the win.

Tonight, Richards defeat Oak Lawn 28-25.

Brady Cunningham’s latest stop in chasing his baseball dreams was the famous Field of Dreams movie site.

“Understanding the history behind all this stuff- how it started, how it came to be, and where it’s at now is just something that is really cool to take in and know that there’s been amazing players that play on this field.”

I caught up with Cunningham in Iowa to hear about his summer playing baseball.

Just announced today: Next year’s MLB Field of Dreams game will be between the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals.

That is if the 2027 season gets played.

Last night resulted in another successful #MLBatFieldofDreams and a no brainer to continue bringing the games to Iowa.

I’ve now been to the field three different years and it’s just as magical as it was the first time.

While scrolling Tik Tok awhile back, I discovered @themaleyway and was quickly introduced to the whole cast of their family and friend.

In a clip featuring Jimmy and Henry of the @henryandjimmyv show, I heard them mention both Lyons Township and Nazareth.

I did little more research and realized this story was bigger than a couple viral clips.

I recently sat down with them all to learn more about friendships, podcasting and vocalizing mental health struggles and the importance of it all.

Thank you to the Maley Family and Henry for letting me chat and share your story.

It took a lot of guts to get where we are, and it’ll take a lot more guts to get where we’re going.

Peppo’s Subs turned 50 last week. To celebrate, they hosted an all day 50th Anniversary Party at their Palos Hills location.

A great success with nonstop lines, food, memories being shared and even some prizes.

I sat down with the Peplowski’s for an exclusive article for Southwest Regional Publishing.

Tonight, @jalenbrunson1 and the New York Knicks tip-off in the NBA Finals against San Antonio Spurs.

The Stevenson grad looks to become the first former Illinois prep star to play and win a title since 2020 when the Los Angeles Lakers roster included Anthony Davis (Perspectives), JaVale McGee (Hales Franciscan), and Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon).

Other notes,
•Drew Peterson (Libertyville) was awarded a ring a member of the 2024 Boston Celtics despite not playing in the playoffs.
•Max Strus (Stagg) was the last to appear in a NBA Finals games when he played for the Miami Heat during the series loss to Denver Nuggets in 2023.
