Bonjour! Je m’appelle hope- I am a poet and artist and have the joy of partnering with artist and nomad for a special craft and culture tour next fall. This retreat invites you to discover the beauty of France through the eyes of artists and maker. We will focus our journey around the poetry of harvest and the art of the table. We will eat farm to table meals, meet winemakers and chefs, learn the art of fermentation, wander historic gardens and medieval cities, and visit studios of living artists. throughout this retreat, you will be invited to pay attention, notice details, and engage all your senses. Our daily poetic reflections and experiences will guide us on a pilgrimage of exploring the intersection of contemplation, hospitality, creativity and community.

“As morning transitions into midday, I sit with an open box of oil pastels, a candle, Ethiopian coffee and a plate full of garden tomatoes considering the season. My hands are messy with the greasy rich colors as I spontaneously sketch what my heart is harvesting: Expectation, Arrival, Contentment…..”

SOTRY STUDIO SALE

This summer has been full of movement, making and meeting with people near and far. I’ve had a few very productive and sweet days in the studio as well as long weeks spent painting on the go. After finishing our big expo in July in Paris, I’ve got quite a nice stock pile of original l artworks available for purchase.

I’ll be posting on my story some of the works available that can be shipped in US without much hassle next week (thanks to my momma who has always been the best patron of the arts and will carry them across the ocean).

I often think, why paint pretty and poetic things if the world seems to (literally) be burning? Through each petal, poem and vibrant moment I hope these works can feel like a prayer or a celebration of the miracle of life in the mundane and mystery of it all…

There’s no greater joy for me as an artist than seeing my work grow up, leave the studio and find a new home! I’m SO grateful for each purchase and do a little happy dance whenever I get to LIVE as an artist and sell original works of art.

Gammie’s Home before it gets split up and given away, heirlooms sorted from goodwill giveaways and childhood memory in every wallpaper, couch cushion and surface.

This place has been mostly the same for my whole life. A place to come back to, a place to belong to.

Losing a generation, a matriarch, a loved one brings about the appreciation for the deeply mundane moments of their home- and how it held us all for so long. by @photohope

Ornamental red ginger blooms, song of India and local farmers market bouquets to celebrate life and community. The Lundblad’s are celebrating 50 years of marriage and we celebrate 5! This is a big trip for them to celebrate their love.

This special red ginger flower in Samoa, where it is known as the teuila, serves as the national flower and represents festive celebration and community. It’s a bold, strong and vibrant bloom.

Took time to paint and slow down as we hunkered down for the tropical storm and continue to lay low and follow local advisories. Thankful to have my @caseformaking vibrant colors that make it fun to paint tropical flora and fauna.
