What a weekend… what a year. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to end the 2024 season.

I am still blown away after every single event that I get to do this. This is the coolest hobby ever and no one can convince me other wise. The cars, the people, the atmosphere, there is absolutely nothing else like it. Getting to pass that love onto others brings me so much joy. Instructor of the year is an incredible honor, and it makes me reflect on all the people who helped me to this point.

@evilemmons egged me on for YEARS to come to the track. When I finally bought my Miata and caved. Brett answered all my silly questions before and during my first day. Brett I wouldn’t be doing any of this if it weren’t for your persistence there. Thank you so much for bringing me into this life.

Soon after, Brett introduced me to @sal_desantis who brought me into the volunteer crew. After that it is honestly all a blur. The time I spent driving to make my way through the HPDE ranks would not have been at all possible without the work/drive volunteer program. The relationships I have built would not have been possible without the volunteer program. Volunteers are the heart and soul of NASA NE. @myersports rode with me for 2 different check rides, has swapped tires for me, loaned tools, given me a place to sleep. Rick thank you for always being so willing to help without batting an eye.

@no_money_motorsports_blog probably has a notebook of ridiculous questions I’ve asked him over the years. Jim, I seriously would not be anywhere near the instructor, driver, or volunteer I have become without your guidance and knowledge. From the endless messages, the trackside chats, track walks, ride alongs, lead follows, sim nights — you’ve taught me more than I could have ever asked for and I couldn’t ever thank you enough for everything.

The Casella’s. None of this would be possible without the time, effort, and frustration you all go through to put these events together. You give us all an incredible outlet in life. THANK YOU.

First real weekend with the new to me BRZ. Despite the clear need for an oil cooler, everything went great. It’s pretty incredible how different this car drives than a Miata. The extra wheelbase and added tech really changes the driving experience. Definitely going to take some adjustment before I’m pushing this thing as hard as I pushed the Miata, WGI definitely not being the place to explore that limit.

Thanks to @windshadowstudios and all of our @nasa_ne volunteers/staff for braving the weather on Saturday and always making sure we have a great event. Next up 2 events at NJMP!

That’s all she wrote. Can’t say I was fully ready to let go of this car. Mainly due to the history I have with it. It’s become more than just a car to me. This car was like my textbook.

I learned so much with this car. I’ll get to the driving but the mechanical side of it was big even before that. Before owning this car, I wasn’t confident doing more than an oil change and a brake job. Since owning the car I’ve touched more areas and parts than I ever thought I would, and have learned so many transferable skills that lead me to a much higher confidence working on any vehicle. A true lifelong skill I’ve acquired.

I will continue to tell everyone a Miata is the best car to learn how to drive on track. If you can go fast in a Miata, you can quickly learn to go fast in anything. I learned that after I was tossed the keys to a few friend’s cars over the past few years. I don’t have enough characters to describe how much I learned behind the wheel here.

We’ll see what’s next. A lot of big life events coming up, but I will not be stepping away from the track. I love my people and cannot wait for 2026!! Just may be without a car for a bit.

This was too good to go unshared. Started this race at the back after a bad qualifying. Shared a few fun laps bumping with current IMSA driver / FIA Platinum @pifitti before I spun myself (we would’ve gone on a crazy charge together too 🙁)

Battled back enough to get the real highlight - this insane finish for P11 - the 2 guys ahead were having a great battle the last 2 laps, but that allowed me to cut away a 6 second gap. Timing couldn’t have been better for when I caught them!
