marigold season reminds me most of babba's glorious garden in the summertime. like clockwork, the orange flowers rise and gently brush against one another in peace. baba is always pleased to see them, though he has never bragged openly about their subtle beauty. I wonder if baba grows the flowers to remind him of something. I watch marigolds centre moments of mighty celebration and mighty pain. the majestic orange blooms burst from the ground and live boldly. marigolds remind me of the circularity of life when they rise and fall each year in babas garden. what ties this thought together is the unconditional love that bounds this lifetime together, despite knowing the end will fall into my hands one day. originating from South America, marigolds moved over to South Asia in the 17th century (by guess who). and have since become synonymous to celebration in the continent. if we really think about it, like the humble marigold, we live somewhere but native to somewhere that lives within us. that will always live within us. humble lil marigold, u rock. by @phul.studio

as with life, I truly value and believe in the spirit of cyclical energy. like life, cut flowers, sadly but eventually come to a surprising end. more can be done to prevent floral waste but more importantly, inject joy in places than another landfill site. that's why, I made a concious effort to partner with Thames Hospice so any occasion or bouquet that I make shall be queried into possibly giving it a second home after its use. right here. where the joy and energy felt in those flowers could be felt at a point when someone may need them the most. proud to know my lil prototype smiles and sits in the hub of the hospice. a place of joy but sorrow. and I truly hope those that find her can take a moment of joy and peace for themselves, despite their circumstance. floral waste is a choice. for every stem that is cut by my hands does not hit the bin, it is nurtured back into soils for future growth. and the circle begins, again. ♡ taken in Thames Hospice by @phul.studio

celebrating @courtneybcomedy and @maddy_nutty’s beautiful matrimony under a hazy august summer day: whimsical seasonal blooms (towering delphiniums, pom pom dahlias and many more textural blooms nestled between love-in-mist pods, coloured agapanthus and delicate lace like cosmos) all sealed with unique purpose: dahlias representing life long commitment, agapanthus being the flower of love!!, cosmos holding space for harmony into a relationship, zinnias representation of life long affection. our entire floral story was guided by the joyful, beautiful and deep rooted adoration and love you both share. it was my greatest honour being a part of your very special day. more pictures pending! 😭🫶🏽❣️🪩💍 p.s huge thank you to Zoe and everyone at @rymansfarm_flowers_and_foliage for the most wonderful floral journey with us over the last few months as perfect as could be! taken in tythe. by @phul.studio

Presenting: The Nocturne Orchard, my installation for the 2026 RHS Sandringham Flower Show.

The Nocturne Orchard reimagines the traditional abundance of a summer harvest through the lens of chiaroscuro - the dramatic interplay of light and shadow. Rather than celebrating the orchard in full daylight, the installation lingers in that fleeting moment at dusk, when crimson fruit deepens in tone, foliage softens into velvet greens, and the landscape takes on an altogether quieter, more mysterious beauty.

Drawing on the romance of the British orchard after hours, the work invites a different perspective on summer floristry - one where richness is found not only in colour, but in atmosphere. It is a floral feast that embraces depth, restraint and drama, proving that abundance can be as evocative in shadow as it is in sunlight.

Creating this piece has been one of the most rewarding and gratifying experiences. to everyone who encouraged me, supported me, lent a hand, or simply believed in the idea from the very beginning - thank you. And to the RHS, thank you for the opportunity to bring The Nocturne Orchard to life on such a special stage.

I hope you enjoy stepping into the twilight world as much as I enjoyed creating it. 🌙✨🦉
