Grateful for this wild & beautiful life I get to create for myself. It’s crazy to think there was a time I wanted to give it all up. The journey to get here hasn’t been easy, but I promise life will keep getting better 🤍 by @phuoody

just touched down on my 24th country last month!

It’s wild to think how a few years ago, this was just a dream- something I hoped I’d get to do one day.

Since then, I’ve been traveling almost every month, collecting little pieces of the world and of myself along the way.

I’m so grateful for the journey so far, and I’m very excited to finally start sharing more of this part of my life with you 🫶 by @phuoody

Finally crossing this off my bucket list! Here are some more details:

1. Location & Background
• Boulder Beach is located in Simon’s Town, about a 45-minute drive from Cape Town. It’s part of the Table Mountain National Park and is home to a colony of over 3,000 African penguins.

• The penguins settled here in 1982 and have become one of Cape Town’s most beloved attractions.

2. Cost and Access
• The entry fee is approximately $11 (around 200 ZAR) for adults, and about $5 for children.

• The main beach area can get crowded, but there’s a quieter, more secluded section if you’re willing to climb over some rocks.

• The water is quite chilly (around 50–60°F depending on the season)

• The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon when the beach is less crowded and the penguins are more active.

• Summer months (November to March) offer warmer weather, but the beach can get busier during peak tourist season.

3. Wildlife and Conservation
• African penguins are an endangered species due to habitat loss and declining fish populations. Boulder Beach is part of a protected marine reserve, and efforts are in place to monitor and support the penguin population.

• Visitors are encouraged to keep a respectful distance and avoid touching the penguins, even though they may approach you in the water.
