What a weekend at the IPSC Bulgarian Handgun Nationals 2026! 🔥🇧🇬

Finished in 5th place in Optics after one of the tightest battles I’ve had in a long time. Sensei @kouzi78 took 1st place, @merdzho got 2nd, both with comfy lead, however @manuil.nikolov finished 3rd (Congrats on first podium my dude), @raikovboris grabbed 4th, and the three of us were neck a neck for the entire match. Every stage felt like it could completely reshuffle the standings. That’s the kind of competition that pushes you harder and makes this sport so addictive.

Special shoutout to the fanciest of RO’s @darielakuneva_ 💃, brief cameo of how to work a tablet while enjoying yourself!

Already looking forward to next year. Time to train harder. 💪

When you’ve reached perfection from your setup and have honed your skills with it you just might get that result!

1 hole for two shots, what made this so incredible is that I was on the move and managed to almost reproduce it on the second target!

Consistency!

Two different runs, two different pistols - @kouzi78 SA only @phxphoenixag Drake (right) and my SA/DA Drake (left), both Optics configured, two different stage plans, left is with reload.
Results, almost identical:

12.5 sec 10A 2C for the left run
11.98sec 9A 3C for the right one

The left run is .5 sec slower, but not because of the reload. Because of bad entry in position 2 that cost time to stabilise.

Or the awakening after a 3 month break from shooting on my side. 3 months can be very detrimental in shooting, especially if you’ve topped it with several well deserved kilograms of body weight.
Not happy with the overall performance, but I expected worse.
10th place overall in the match after I managed to zero 2 out of the 8 stages.
The equipment ran flawlessly and that brought me great joy! I had 1 malfunction for the whole day that was caused by out of spec (bad crimp) 9x19 round that I didn’t catch when loading.

• Rifle: @sabattiarmi 14.5” with @superlativearms adj gas block, @geissele Super 42 H2, @risearmament ICONIC trigger, @b5systems.eu furniture, @bravocompanyusa KAG,
• Suppressor: @suppressors.si CQ 556 Gen 2
