We are proud to share that the city of Phoenix Aviation Department has received the 2026 Architecture Award from the Mayor’s Commission on Disability Issues.

The recognition highlights our partnership with ReBokeh Vision Technologies and the introduction of a free app-based accessibility tool that helps travelers with low vision navigate the airport with greater confidence and independence.

Providing an inclusive travel experience is a priority at Phoenix Sky Harbor and Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear airports.

We are grateful to the Mayor’s Commission on Disability Issues and the City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department for this honor, and congratulate all 2026 award recipients for their work advancing accessibility throughout our community.

Don’t ghost your flight this weekend👻

Happy Halloween from #AmericasFriendliestAirport 🎃 by @phxskyharbor

A store employee at Phoenix Sky Harbor was so helpful and welcoming, two separate travelers reached out to compliment him.
One traveler mentioned that they flew through Phoenix twice in one week and stopped in both times at AZCentral.com in Terminal 4 for snacks. On both visits, Bruce M., a store associate with airport contractor CASA Unlimited, assisted them and offered “his great attitude, humor, and overall experience.”
A different traveler visited and noted that Bruce was extremely helpful and delightful during checkout, and that his light-hearted interaction helped start their weekend travel plans on a positive note.
Bruce’s professionalism and good cheer is a testament to his company and is why he was recognized by Phoenix Sky Harbor’s On the FLY team (F = Friendly. L = Let me help. Y = You.)

Founded in 2013, Kettle Heroes Popcorn was created by brothers Rudi and Aaron Sinykin to honor their grandfathers who served the U.S., by highlighting heroes who often go unnoticed. They craft real, kettle-cooked popcorn in small batches, using only natural and allergen-friendly ingredients, believing that such everyday heroes deserve the best.

Find a bag of @KettleHeroesPopcorn during your next visit to #PHX in Camelback Provisions and Roosevelt Row in Terminal 4, both before security.

An elderly couple whose flight was canceled was expecting a lengthy walk to the ticket counter to reschedule their flight when an airport employee came to their rescue.
The couple was dealing with health issues on top of trying to walk a great distance when Marta W., a passenger assistant with airport contractor Prospect Airport Services, saw their struggle and jumped into action.
Marta came to the rescue with a wheelchair and took the couple to the ticket desk to fix their flights. She had to leave to meet a passenger on another arriving flight but she was able to return and help them get outside to catch a ride to a hotel.
“She was wonderful,” said Mary Lou, the passenger who nominated Marta for recognition. “I keep thinking about how thoughtful she was. It was so encouraging to see that there is kindness out there. I wanted to acknowledge her.”
We want to acknowledge her too, so Marta was recognized for her outstanding work by our Phoenix Sky Harbor On the FLY team (F = Friendly. L = Let me help. Y = You.)
