Already sent in your application? We can’t wait to read it! Haven’t gotten it in yet? We are EXTENDING OUR DEADLINE to July 6th! You have until next Monday night to send us your beautiful ideas for this year’s festival.

Reminders:

- The festival will run January 7 - 17 at Stella Adler Center for the Arts, NYC.
- Submissions are due on Monday, July 6th 2026 at 11:59p!
- All PhysFestNYC offerings center the body in performance, which can be defined in a MYRIAD of ways. All definitions welcome!

Click on our SUBMISSION GUIDE to read about eligibility, curation criteria, tech specs, and a handy FAQ.

There are some new features to the application, including an opt-in checkbox for if you would like to be a member of our curation team in the future. (A reminder that the festival is curated by a rotating panel, so past applications will go through a different set of curators than in past years!)

Happy dreaming up of ideas, and have a wonderful weekend celebrating people who have made art in America for at least 250 years :)

Our best,

On our day of rest, PhysFestNYC & Broken Box Mime Theater would like to honor the legacy of Nancy Lyon

“In this year’s lobby you’ll see a few photos of Nancy Lyon, a 5 foot tall giant in the world of mime. Her belief in what we were building at the festival continues to resonate in all that we do. A heartfelt and teary thank you to Nancy for her friendship, her collaboration, and her art. How you are missed! May Nancy’s memory be a blessing, one that keeps us all inspired by her example: a lifelong learner with a heart FILLED to the brim with a love for art, for possibility, and for the power of performance. We love you, Nancy!”

Thank you to our partners who have offered support to our curated artists! HERE and Pig Iron’s subsidized rehearsal space has supported *six artists* this year and Vaudevisuals has repeated their $500 grant, this year to Vaibu Mohan’s new work. Congrats, all! Check out these works at PhysFestNYC January 8 - 18. taken in Stella Adler Studio of Acting by @physfestnyc
