Hi, I’m Miranda Vega! formerly Miranda Whealan, hence MKW. That name represents where this journey began back in 2016, and it will always be part of who I am.

This May marks 10 years of conducting investigations, something that still feels surreal to say.

Before becoming an investigator, I studied Criminal Justice at Anna Maria College, earning my bachelor’s degree with a minor in Social Welfare. I also interned with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., where I quickly realized that investigative work was where my passion truly lived.

From there, I transitioned into the private sector, and everything took off.

Over the years, I’ve intentionally invested in perfecting my craft through continued education, hands-on experience, and professional certifications. I am a Certified Forensic Interviewer, bilingual in English and Azorean Portuguese, and I’ve had the honor of serving as an expert witness, testifying in courts across Massachusetts. MKWIS will be FIVE this year!

I’ve worked nearly every type of criminal case, but criminal defense has always been my passion. I also take immense pride in child custody cases — not only professionally, but personally. I’ve fought my own custody battle, and I truly understand what my clients are up against. I don’t just work these cases, I feel them.

Outside of work, I’m a wife and mother, and my family and close circle mean everything to me. They’re also a constant reminder of why I do this work with such care, integrity, and determination.

If you’re looking for an investigator who is experienced, strategic, and genuinely invested in your case, not just treating you like a file number — I will fight for you.

✨ Feeling Grateful ✨
I received this incredible review today, and it truly means more than I can put into words.

As an investigator, I pour my heart into every case, especially the ones that involve families, children, and long, stressful battles. Knowing that my work helped bring clarity, relief, and a positive outcome for someone going through such a difficult process is exactly why I do what I do.

To my client: thank you for trusting me, for allowing me into your story, and for recognizing the dedication behind my work. Your words remind me how important it is to show up with integrity, thoroughness, and compassion every single time.

If you or someone you know ever needs a PI who is committed, detail-oriented, and truly invested in the outcome, I’m here. 🤍
