Hello, I’m Sophia!

I’m officially in my Bookstagram era 📚

I’ve loved reading since I was in grade school, and one of the books that has always stayed with me was The Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank). Growing up, books have been my escape a way to travel to different worlds, live different lives, and feel things beyond my own reality.

I love how something as simple as pages and ink, brought to life by a writer’s imagination, can open entire universes. And now, I’m excited to create, connect, and meet new friends with different perspectives and stories to share 🤍

📖 Love Between the Lectures by Christie Curry
🗓️ Pub Date: September 22, 2026

June, a sexuality professor, and Alex, her former next-door neighbor and high school crush, are reunited in one of the funniest meet-cutes I’ve read in a long time and somehow, it only got better from there.

The forced proximity, the witty banter, and the emotional depth of the characters completely won me over. I laughed with them, rooted for them, and even got a little emotional along the way.
The pacing is consistent, the writing is engaging, and every character feels real and relatable. The supporting cast is equally lovable, but Gram absolutely stole the show for me, I need more of her!!

One of the things I appreciated most was June herself. Watching a woman overcome shame and societal expectations to become a respected sexuality professor felt both empowering and timely.

We need more Junes in the world. ♥️ taken in BOOKSTA by @piaa.reads

📚: Summer by Jenny Han
The Summer I Turned Pretty (2009); It’s Not Summer Without You (2010); We’ll Always Have Summer (2011)

After watching the “other” show and being extremely disappointed.

I wanted to compare TSITP book and the show too.

This was the first time I had read them. However, I recall seeing the original covers before at the Scholastic book fair when I was in grade school. I believe the 2009 Pia would have enjoyed these books.

Book 1 and 2 shared similarities with the show, but the show was significantly superior. I genuinely wondered why this became a TV show; there wasn’t much here. Belly and Conrad hardly spoke, and Steven was barely mentioned in the books. I don’t understand why there was Team Conrad and Team Jere while reading it.

Book 3, however, after I read it. I understood why it became a show and why it had a massive fan base. I love the characters’ growth for everyone; it took its time, but it was there. Conrad’s letter, though, was what truly sold me.

The show was 100x better than the book. I also love that Lola, Chris and Gavin narrated the books. Excited for the movie!! ♥️ taken in BOOKSTA by @piaa.reads
