Why does Hasdeo matter? 🌳

Standing here, it’s hard to believe this is more than just a forest.

You hear birds, feel the silence, and see trees that have stood here for decades.

But beneath this land lies coal that powers millions of Indian homes.

That’s why Hasdeo isn’t just an environmental story or a mining story—it’s India’s story.

It’s about the difficult choices a growing country has to make.

Can we meet our energy needs without losing forests that take centuries to grow?

I don’t think this is a question with an easy answer.

That’s why I came here—not to tell you what to think, but to show you what’s at stake.

If you had to make this decision for India, what would you choose? taken in Hasdeo Arand by @pibiviews
