As a Creative, who has made a commitment to sharing my work more often and to stay connected with community through social media, I find it challenging to post, during a time of a hard lessons and difficult news. This is why I choose to celebrate the wonderful people that I have had the honor to work with. This is Josh Romero @catchinupconchachi we have been working together for many years and I am humbled by his commitment to teaching at Cal State Fullerton, Santa Ana College, privately, whilst leading his own dance troop. @fuse_dance_company

He is kind, patient and moves like he was born to defy gravity. When he stepped in front of my camera, it wasn’t about fancy poses or forced perfection. It was raw, honest and effortless, like he was just doing what he does best – being damn good at what he loves every shot feels like capturing a little bit of magic wrapped in humility. Sweet as hell, humble to the core, and exactly the kind of person who makes you believe in the beauty of showing up and just being real. I am so grateful to have him in front of my lens

This is the time to look at the helpers. This is a dear friend, @kathy_brookwong she is a healer, not just of bodies, but of hearts, sewing Light into the broken spaces and reminding us that love is as much a remedy as an cure.

This photograph was taken to promote her Reiki mastery course, she is pictured with one of her students Glinka Alverado. Kathy’s home has become something of a healing center, where every day is a chance to grow, heal, and help others find their light.

Every scroll reveals another image of charred landscapes, leveled homes and smoke choked skies. It takes me back. 30 years ago, as I stood watching the flames consume everything I had ever known, I felt a hollowness I did not know was possible. I remember feeling stripped bare, not just of possessions, but of identity. Some of what I am seeing in the media today reflects the hopeful events that followed, after the fire took everything, many years ago. In the days that followed, something remarkable happened. Where I expected to find only emptiness, there was an outpouring – a flood of humanity. Neighbors, I barely knew, arrived with arms full of comfort, bags of clothing and quiet words of encouragement. Strangers offered me a bed or a couch to sleep on, a woman in my college photo lab offered me musical instruments. The red cross provided gift cards. I can still remember the look in their eyes – not of pity, but one of solidarity, as if they carried my loss with me, lightening the load just enough to let me breathe. It was humbling, that love, that generosity. It cracked through my grief and reached places I thought would be charred forever. That feeling of being held up by others – people I knew, and strangers I would never meet again – was as close to Grace as I’ve ever been. Even now, the memory of their kindness burns brighter than the fire ever did. This video shows some of the negative sleeves that were recovered, emulsion stuck to plastic from the heat, imagery that can only be seen through the surreal warp of fire damage.

Ah, center weighting the composition—a bold and revolutionary choice, because who needs the rule of thirds anyway? Just plop your subject smack in the middle of the frame like a bullseye, ensuring it screams, “Look at me, I’m here!” Forget subtlety or nuance; symmetry is the new black. Sure, it might feel a little boring or predictable, but hey, sometimes you just want your photos to look like a passport photo with flair.

This shot of @eternalcheerleader just off the warm mucky shores of Bombay Beach, came with all of the overwhelming, pungent odors of algae blooms, agriculture runoff, and dead tilapia.
