posting singing on grid per @mayajeyam instruction still floating from making my NYC singing debut at Hot Mic Pride this Wednesday. huge thank you to @indimekju and @smallboatpc for having me and to the insane lineup of performers who made me feel so safe and supported(and who brought the frickin house down). and thank you to my angel friends for showing up for me- looking into the audience and seeing you guys made my fears fall away. my relationship with performing has been complicated, but it used to be so simple and this night felt like a return to that. I love to sing, I love connecting with others. and that all goes back to my nana Shamiram, my heart outside my body- i feel so connected to her, even more now. our family home has always been full of music and joy, and living so far from that is excruciating. having a place to share my heart through song was a gift beyond words. ❤️❤️ by @picklauren

heart so full i’m struggling to find the words. I have felt so blessed(no pun intended) to work on @blessed_unrest workshop of Body Unredacted. on top of that, it worked out that my dad was able to come visit for a couple days and see it. this is the first time anyone in my family has gotten to see a show i’ve stage managed. I have poured my everything into this show for the past two months, and to share that work with my dad is more gratifying and emotional than I can say.this piece of art is so close to my heart. it has challenged me to live in and take care of and listen to my body in a way i never have before. and to see the beauty in every sparrow, squirrel, or bumblebee. there will be much more sappiness coming from me after closing, but I truly feel this opening night will be such a special, magical core memory for me. a room full of people, including my favorite person, coming together to explore what it means to be human and live in these bodies in community with each other. I will cherish this experience forever. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️to make sense of my emotional rambling, I strongly encourage you to come out to the show and share this moment in space and time with us🫶🏻 by @picklauren
