One afternoon, sat on a bench somewhere outside USYD I nervously wrote and sent a DM to a director whose film funding callout moved me.

Over a year on now and I'm so happy to share some music I made for this gorgeous film. It explores some of the internal struggles of growing up as an Asian-Australian and the importance of community in that journey.

A huge congrats to @dangdiddly + @jakscanlon for all the hard work you put into this masterpiece. It was fun sculpting this with you🧘

Pico @pico_dsl is a Sydney-based Macanese-Chinese composer and sound artist who creates warm, spacious sonic environments centred around saxophone timbres, resonance and texture.

His work 'The Sonic Tunnel', a mediation on becoming an artist, will be performed at Kudos Live.

Experience 'The Sonic Tunnel' on Thursday the 6th of August, 6-8PM at Artspace. Student tickets are $10 and general admission is $12.

Afterwards, join us for the afterparty at the Lord Gladstone Hotel from 8:30PM til late!

‘Queering Sydney’ Teaser Trailer

In Sydney, young queer women of colour navigate how the night sheds the internalised gaze of their immigrant parents’ values, and social expectations, awakening a celebration of youth, self-expression and community.

I’m excited to share that my documentary short ‘Queering Sydney’ has been nominated for the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival @mdffest, officially premiering on 12th July. I feel privileged that my voice will also be platformed in a Q&A to share this journey from last year.

Eternally grateful for the cast and crew for uniting to make something special - a testament of what communal effort can conceive. Thank you allll.

@pico_dsl

Piiico creates warm, spacious sonic environments centred around saxophone, resonance and texture.

Using contact microphones placed directly on the brass surface of the instrument, subtle vibrations and room resonance are fed through layers of effects and gradually transformed into evolving ambient soundscapes before dissolving into live improvisation.

Introducing the next edition of Inner Vision - an evolving community arts project where live ambient music meets collective art making.

We invite you to unwind and join us to be a part of a shared creative experience inspired by collaboration and experimentation. **Basic art materials will be provided** but we invite you to BYO creative tools - including journals, books, craft materials, and immerse yourself in live ambient music as we enter a flow state together.

This winter edition will feature 2 new local live ambient artists LYDIA & PIIICO, playing evolving experimental soundscapes throughout the evening. Featured live painting artists will be announced soon
