I really don’t know what this traffic light is supposed to be for. When we were there, the light was red the entire time. It’s only a small alleyway, too. Perhaps someone here from Porto knows? In any case, the view from there was magnificent.

ich weiss wirklich nicht wofür diese Ampel gut sein soll. Als wir dort waren, war die Ampel die ganze Zeit rot. es ist auch nur eine kleine Gasse. vielleicht ist hier jemand aus Porto, der das weiß? aber der Blick von dort war grandios.

It is so lovely sitting here by the river on a warm summer night. People are in high spirits, enjoying life. You forget everything else around you. A wonderful atmosphere!

São Bento Station in Porto is the most beautiful train station I know. It is renowned for its exceptionally beautiful, historic *azulejos* (ceramic tiles). It feels like a museum: the images tell stories from the past, immersing you in another era. At night, the station was wonderfully empty, which was great for photography. During the day, it is packed with tourists. So, if you have the chance, it is best to visit the station late in the evening.

der Bahnhof São Bento in Porto ist der schönste Bahnhof den ich kenne. Er ist sehr bekannt durch seine besonders schönen, historischen Azulejos. Es ist wie in einem Museum: Die Bilder erzählen Geschichten von früher und man taucht ein in eine andere Zeit. Nachts war der Bahnhof herrlich leer, das war gut zum Fotografieren. Tagsüber ist er sehr voll mit Touristen. Also, wenn ihr die Möglichkeit habt, dann schaut euch den Bahnhof besser spät abends an.

The market hall in Porto is well worth a visit. There is a huge selection of gourmet foods, fish, fruit, vegetables, and simply everything your heart desires! My recommendation: freshly sliced cured ham with a glass of white wine! Delicious!

die Markthalle in Porto ist sehr sehenswert. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Feinkost, Fisch, Obst, Gemüse und einfach alles was das Herz begehrt! Meine Empfehlung: frisch aufgeschnittenen, getrockneten Schinken mit einem Glas Weißwein! lecker!

A glorious late-summer day in Pinhão. You can simply sit by the river and gaze at the vineyards or take a short boat trip. Here, you completely forget about everyday life and simply enjoy the moment!

An einem herrlichen Tag im Spätsommer in Pinhaõ. Einfach am Fluss sitzen und in die Weinberge schauen oder eine kleine Bootstour mitmachen. Man vergisst hier völlig den Alltag und genießt den Augenblick!

That’s my favorite area in Portugal! 😍🇵🇹 The Douro Valley is the oldest wine-growing region in the world and simply stunningly beautiful! I’ve been there many times, but the wine region is so vast that I’m far from having seen it all. Has anyone else been there?

The landscape in northern Portugal is beautiful; everything here is much greener. The further south you travel, however, the drier it becomes. In the Alentejo, on the other hand, there are many cork oaks and olive trees. Each region is different, and each is beautiful in its own way. But I like the north best.
Here are some impressions, captured just outside my husband's home village.

Die Natur in Nordportugal ist wunderschön. Hier ist alles sehr viel grüner. Je weiter man dann Richtung Süden fährt, wird es hingegen immer trockener. Dafür gibt es im Alentejo viele Korkeichen und Olivenbäume. Jede Region ist anders, und jede Region ist auf seine Weise wunderschön. Aber der Norden gefällt mir am besten.
Hier sind einige Impressionen, aufgenommen außerhalb des Heimatdorfes meines Mannes.
